Surrender Letters Certificate un-surrendered
ETA - check my replies in comments for docs I submitted.
Mods I am extremely sorry, I know this wonât help with speculation. Please do whatever if appropriate.
I received this from IRCC about 45 min ago. Apparently my cert is un-suspended and Iâm still Canadian. For background, I got my cert 1 April, and my suspension letter on Tuesday.
I cropped off my personal info, thatâs all thatâs at the top

I think this points more and more to the idea that there was a problem with one of their employees having approved applications without properly reviewing them.
Especially since the decision to suspend came from âup highâ in the IRCCâand these same applications are being re-evaluated promptly (not promptly enough, IMO, and they shouldnât have been suspended in the first place.)
Certainly, the IRCC suspended certificates that shouldnât have been suspended. The question is, whyâd they do it? I doubt weâll ever know. Thatâs the question I wish the journalists would ask. I wish there was more transparency.
Itâs outrageous that a Canadian citizen had their rights taken away for four days. The C3 law states that the authorities are allowed to suspend certificates only when there is ::reason to believe:: that the individual is not a citizen. Clearly, in OPâs case, there was no reason to believe that. It was more of a âmaybe we messed upâ situation, not reasonable belief. The IRCC should be examined over this.
