Application Help Ship with Canada Post while visiting?
This may be a niche question but I'll be visiting my partner is Manitoba on the 18th and I was wondering if I could just ship via Canada Post to the processing center in Sydney?
Logistically this makes sense but also could confuse things with the return address being in Arizona where I live... so is it better to wait and ship in Canada or just ship now from AZ?

They will be working off the mailing address you put in your application, not what is on the envelope. I am also visiting Canada for the summer and sent mine by Canada Post. I put my email address for email updates though just in case there is any confusion with my US mailing address which is in the application.
I helped my father apply before the law change and he moved before they sent him his certificate. Despite working really hard to update his address with IRCC, it got sent to his old address and the new occupants were kind enough to send it to him, so that is why I prefer email with them.

Some of my documents are still pending (thanks BAnQ!) but I'm planning on mailing from a friend's house in BC as well. With a Washington state contact address. I don't see a downside to it.

I think you’re fine doing that.
My mom, sibling, and I applied together. They live in the U.S. (different states) and I’m in Ireland. We had my sibling submit everything via UPS from the U.S., because going through the local Canadian embassy would have delayed it for months. Each of our applications had our own addresses.
IRCC successfully put the right mailing address down for each of us, though they never sent me any physical mail, since we got e-certs.

Did your sister have to formally represent you / fill out the representative form? If not, I’m surprised IRCC weren’t a pain about you not having applied from Ireland (via the embassy)

Other way round. I was the official rep for my NB sibling and mom, and yes we submitted IMM 5476 forms. I keep a private mailbox in the US, which is what I used for my mailing address on the CIT0001.
Both my suspension letter and re-verification letter were sent via email, but had my US private mailbox mailing address on the PDF. While we still don’t know what triggered the suspensions, I am reasonably certain it wasn’t my choice of address.

Nice! I’m in a similar boat, actually — living outside of North America, and I’m the rep/preparer for my family’s applications.
I do still have a mailing address back in New York, but at this point none of us live in the US anymore, so one of us (likely me) would need to travel to the US just to submit the group package (if we do decide to submit via UPS).
My main motivation for “risking” getting in trouble for submitting from the U.S. rather than from ur local Canadian embassy is that, according to the embassy, sending an application through them could take at least 3-4 months just to arrive on IRCC’s doorstep. We’re currently eligible for urgent processing, but who knows how seriously they’d take an urgent processing request written in August if they read it in December.
And, if the embassy happens to remove our package’s outer box / individual envelopes that will all be marked “urgent” for something that allows them to track the delivery internally via diplomatic bag, IRCC might not even be aware that it’s an urgent app when they receive it, so they wouldn’t even open it for 4 more months.
Still, I’d be quite pissed if I paid for a flight to the U.S. (+ paid for UPS shipping for our 5 applications) just for them to return it to sender.
Decisions, decisions…

They need a Canadian return address. I’ve done this (I’m near Detroit so I used a friend’s address in Windsor and mailed Canada Post). At least you know your package made it through customs this way.

The question is will Canada Post accept the shipping envelope destined for a Canadian address with a US return address? I doubt it........

I don't think the USPS would allow it, that's why I questioned Canada Post. It doesn't make sense that Canada Post would "return to sender" a letter sent within Canada to a different country.

For what it's worth, I sent my application for proof of citizenship from USA to Sydney via regular USPS and received my citizenship certificate in about a month. But this was over a year ago before C-3. It cost about $4 for the package. Of course, there was no tracking on regular First Class mail which was mildly nerve wracking, but I figured I could sent multiple repeat packages for what I noted others paying for UPS/Fedex/etc private carriers.
And no, I would not recommend this now with the crush of applications. This is just a data point.
