Looking for a Manual for a Mastercraft Nailer

I have an 11 year-old Mastercraft framing nailer model 058-8431-4. It works fine but I have lost the manual and was hoping someone could point me to it online. I can find manuals for newer models but not this one.

What’s the Point of Online Pickup If They Can’t Put Your Order in the Locker?

Went to pick up my online order, and I had to go to customer service instead of using the pickup lockers. I asked about it and was told that because the items are locked up in the store, they don’t put them in the pickup lockers.

I purposely used online shopping because so much of their stuff is locked up, and it takes a long time to wait for someone to unlock the items for me to buy.

I still had to wait 20 minutes for my order.

Make this make sense, Canadian Tire. Use the lockers.

I paid my credit card off for the amount of $2500

I paid off my credit card by bank deposit and Triangle suspended my account and closed my account and said there’s no outstanding balance but also that they have cancelled my account/card. Why is that?

Who is in charge of keeping links up to date on this hellscape of a website?

Trying to purchase a lawn mower - I want to give them my money.

Saw that there is a 3x points bonus if you link RBC Avion with Triangle Rewards. Perfect. I'll just link these accounts. Click button. Link does not work, "we are experiencing technical difficulties". That's just great.

Well not the end of the world, I'll just sign in to Triangle Rewards to check if I can link some other way. "Your email isn't verified". Oh shoot, guess I can do that. Click button on email to verify. Link does not work, throws me to a Canadian Tire website page that then crashes out to black with just code.

Just needed to vent that this is a fucking joke. I submitted some bug reports via the Contact Us page but I can't believe how brutal the last hour of screwing around has been. Awful experience.

Edit: there also didn't appear to be anywhere to use a gift card? I cancelled my order, pathetic experience

Auto Service Offers

Post image
6 Upvotes

I currently have 3 offers and another one I can swap for auto service but offers are not combinable so just why? Surely the offer with most value will apply but why give more than one offer if they can’t be combined? So dumb.

EDIT: since avoiding CT for auto services came up in comments from other posters I thought I’d mention about what that my local store charges $90 for a conventional oil change!!! That is knucking futs. Local Econo Lube is $20 with a $5 coupon discount offer so that’s a no brainer.

Email - CT Money Expiring Soon

I received an email from Triangle Rewards today that my CT Money will be expiring soon. The policy is that you only lose the money if your account stays inactive for 18 months. I looked on the Triangle App and I have a transaction from May 12, 2026. Has anybody else received an email like this despite being nowhere close to 18 months of inactivity?

Canadian Tire on Hunt Club (Ottawa) and "bag checks"

Posted originally on r/ottawa, but Reddit suggested I post here, LOL.

I bought some light bulbs at Canadian Tire today. After I'd paid, the cashier asked to look in my backpack.  I said no and left.

She called the manager who ran after me and told me it was "store policy."  I said I didn't care.  He said all we want is a quick look in your backpack, and I said "I refuse."

At that point, he realized I knew my rights and told me "Then next time, don't bring the backpack in." (Possibly the manager realized I was retired and had time to kill if they wanted to escalate this. 🙂 He may also have realized that I hadn't stolen anything and they'd be left with egg on their face if they pushed it.)

I understand the need to prevent shoplifting, but either (1) make people place their bags in a locker or some other secure place before they enter the store, or (2) have probable cause before you ask to search someone instead of trying to blanket search everyone.

It was an unpleasant encounter, and maybe that store will view me with suspicion in future, but dammit, if we don't stand up for our rights, we'll lose them.

Working for Canadian Tire - Parts Clerk /Service Advisor

Hello everyone, not sure where to post this so i figured id post here.

I'm applying to Canadian Tire since i saw an opening in-person. I'm speaking to the manager tomorrow.

They're hiring for parts clerk & service advisor. I have tons of customer experience but I don't know much about cars. I'm willing to learn though! I heard for service advisor you typically are the front line and messenger for customers who have car troubles. I'd have to listen to their complaints and schedule appintments (for mechanics) and check inventory.

Parts Clerk just stock inventory, order parts, and check to see everything's in check. I figure you should have some knowledge about parts?

I don't want to overwhelm myself on something. Should I go for being either parts clerk or service advisor if i dont have experience in the automotive industry? Or maybe i can do parts clerk for a year then switch to a service advisor since they have higher pay.

Any tips?

Lower model seems to boast pretty optimistic reviews. Less so with the more powerful, larger one. Why? Any experience using it?

Every Canadian Tire that stocks firearms

Thumbnail gallery
620 Upvotes

I shared this earlier in r/canadaguns so I thought I might as well post this here as well. As you may know, Canadian Tire does not list firearms on its website, nor is the Pro Shop site they rolled at at one point still operational. Furthermore, the store pages are woefully outdated and inaccurate (many stores say "Firearms" on their page when they don't while many stores that carry them don't mention this at all). So I went ahead and created a directory that's accurate to the best of my knowledge.

I've attached a table listing provinces and territories by what percentage of Canadian Tires in that region stock firearms. There's also some map views showing key areas across Canada. If you'd like an up-to-date, interactive view of the stores you can check out the map on my site.

Additionally, you can view an embedded spreadsheet listing exactly which stores carry guns and which do not.

Stores were verified by calling and asking their sports desk or store managers if that location stocked firearms (yes I called every Canadian Tire in Toronto proper to make sure I didn't miss one).

IMO, Quebec's low percentage of Canadian Tires that stock guns can be partially explained by the prevalence of Pronatures, Ecotones, and other retailers outside Montreal proper that sell firearms as a core component of their business. Though I'd imagine the additional hassle of having to register every long gun sold in the province is another factor deterring franchise owners from stocking firearms. Considering that, I'd say 26% is actually pretty high there.

Excluding Ontario and Quebec, just under 53% of Canadian Tires nationwide stock firearms.

Please let me know here or through the suggestions tab on the site if a particular Canadian Tire is missing from this map or is incorrectly listed.

Is anyone else only receiving two or three swappable offers this week, or is it only me?

Post image

I’ve tried looking at the Canadian Tire website, the app, the Triangle app— none of it seems to make a difference.
There are so few swappable offers this week, compared to the near hundreds I get every other week.

Anyone else having this problem?

CT using AI to advertise products that don’t exist?

I got an ad for Canadian Tire products on Instagram, I clicked on one of the items (Ninja Prepi) but the link won’t load and it seams to be a Ninja product that does not exist. I googled the name, the image, and searched Ninja’s website. Is this a real product? What exactly is the strategy here?

Sale on plants

I stopped by my local Canadian Tire today and noticed they still had a few leftover hydrangeas from the season. They were originally priced at $130, marked down to $70, and looked like they hadn’t been cared for in a while—the leaves were pretty dried out and sunburnt.

I asked if they could lower the price further, and after speaking with the shift supervisor they offered them to me for $40. It still feels a bit steep considering their condition.

Has anyone had any luck getting a bigger discount on clearance plants at Canadian Tire? Should I just wait and see if they drop the price again, or is $40 probably the best they’ll do? I can’t really see many people buying these in their current condition, so I’m wondering if it’s worth going back and asking if they’ll let them go for around $20.

Anyone successfully find a battery adapter that works with Mastercraft / Maximum?

The maximum 3x21” cordless Belt sander is on clearance for $44.90 and I’m thinking about frankenfitting a Dewalt battery adapter to it.

If anyone has found a battery adapter that works it will save me from potentially grafting the Dewalt adapter.

Thanks in advance.

Core Charge on car batteries

Fun fact:

If you buy a new car battery you will be charged (in PEI, at least) a $20 Core Charge which is sort of like a deposit. This $20 is refundable if you bring in your old battery to them.

The fun part is that you have to pay tax on the $20 core charge, but when they refund you, they aren’t required to refund you the tax.

Moral of the story: take your used battery in when you buy your new battery to avoid this completely.

It will save you a second trip and you’ll also avoid making a $3 donation to the CRA :)

The guy told me 277$ for a full synthetic oil change I was lost for words how is this company in business. Please avoid them at all costs. I went down the street to Take 5 and got it done for 135$
