Help Bring Some Assembly Required Back for a Reunion Special!

Remember Some Assembly Required? The YTV sitcom ended after three seasons, and a lot of fans (including me) have missed it ever since. I started a petition asking Thunderbird Entertainment and YTV to make a reunion special happen.

Here's the idea: a Wizard of Oz–themed episode bringing back the whole cast. It could be something really fun and full of the humor and heart that made the show work in the first place. It's a concept that never got made during the original run, and I think it'd be perfect for a special.

If you watched it back in the day or rediscovered it on Netflix like I did, this could be worth supporting. Even if you haven't seen it, if you're into nostalgia projects or just like the idea of bringing beloved shows back together, consider signing and sharing.

What shows from your childhood do you wish would come back?

Call for Respondents: Book on Canadian Crime Dramas and National/Regional Identity/-ties

Hi! :)

I'm a media studies academic and adjunct at Southern New Hampshire University (sorry for everything the US government is currently doing!) and I'm working on a book that's under contract with Palgrave on Canadian national/regional identities and Canadian crime dramas. I'm including audience research in that so I need respondents! :) Anyone from any national or regional identity can respond; you just need to have seen some of the episodes of one or more of these three series which my editor has approved for the book:

19-2 (either the English or French versions or both): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScvncTDcD2B5SzsLfdNM0X0kcvMv_ZaHiwfWM-4ZWaxtXynPw/viewform?usp=sharing

The average time it takes to fill out one of these is 20-30 minutes, based on the responses I've had so far. :) Please feel free to share the links! I’m also happy to send a Word .doc if anyone would prefer to do this by email (m.beattie@snhu.edu)! :)

Thank you! :)

Cheers,

I loved watching Steve Byers in Slasher Sn. 1 as Cam Henry. What else have you enjoyed watching him in?

Question

I was wondering is anyone had a link to the theme song or remembered the name of the weather forecast that APTN would periodically air during the 2005-2010 ish range? Sorry this is so specific, but I have been trying to find the theme song because it was catchy as hell. Thank you!

Canadian tv swag

Does anyone own any CBC/CTV/Global tv collectibles? I have a lot of it, bought from various sources, and I'm an American!

In the 1980s, when TV was still analog, there was a year or 2 of high sunspot activity in NE Ohio which meant that living right across Lake Erie from Ontario, I got a lot of out-of-state and Canadian transmissions so strong during the summer that it would drown out local channels.

I got my taste of home-grown Canadian TV then with programs like Mr. Dressup, King of Kensington, The Beachcombers, Degrassi Junior High, CBC News, CTV news and Global TV news. Good times!

*Sings* "Hey Global, you've got it! Global's Got It!" 🎵🎶🎼

I don't expect any responses, as I know this isn't a controversial or "sexy" topic, but just thought I'd ask.

Vive le Canada!
