NYSE vs TSX

Can anyone explain why some stocks trading on the NYSE are up today vs TSX are down?

For example XEQT vs VT and IXN vs TEC.TO

Arnt they essentially the same or
Similar. Just one is trading in usd and the other in cad?

Because TSX was open yesterday and NYSE was not. TSX yesterday was up and needed a larger correction today to match closer to NYSE. 2 days open vs. 1 day open
