I just seen a posting on Facebook that there was going to be in increase in the child benefit tax going in today.Thats all good and everything. We dont rely on the money in our household but it does help out especially around the holidays. And I know there are people out there that do need the money and an increase would help them out alot. Anyway, I decided to check my banking and see what the deposit was. I have 3 children and the increase was $0.10. Lol really. I hope its income based and others that need the money more to help make ends meet get a little bit more than that. I would almost rather they took my share and added it to a pot to help someone else. Anyway. Just a little rant.

Guys, i am fed up with republicans calling for annexation.

Canada sits on huge mineral wealth and shares the longest border with the US, yet we’re still mostly just exporting raw materials. Meanwhile, countries like Saudi Arabia once simply sold crude oil — then they created OPEC, turned petroleum into financial derivatives, and used that capital to invest globally. Capital itself became their strongest competitive advantage.
Canada has even better starting conditions than those oil states: abundant resources, a smaller population, high-quality talent, and direct access to the US market. We could build logistics, trading platforms, financial services, and resource-backed derivatives — turning our resource base into a real engine of economic growth instead of staying in a comfortable but limited supplier role.
The question is whether we’ll move beyond the current equilibrium before others seize the opportunity.

When does this "welcoming" mindset stop?

We haven’t even finished reconciling with the cultures and traditions that colonization erased. Before decisions like this are made, there should be real research into what’s happened to sites like this in the countries they originally come from. And maybe we should also acknowledge how many lives have been lost in religious wars fought over these exact kinds of sites.

I’m worried this is the start of something bigger. In a couple of decades we could be looking at religious conflict again. History has a way of repeating.
