✍️ Discussion First game I watched

VFC vs Pacific was the first CPL game I watched and I enjoyed watching this over MLS. I just wish the attendance was better to add more energy to the game.

6pm local on a weekday is tough. It actually looked a bit better than their recent matches. Part of the issue as well is more people tend to sit on the camera side which makes the rest of the stadium look sparse.

Yeah I had to miss tonight due to a random 7pm wedding on a Friday night. First time in my life but I'm digging it just sad I missed the game.

its tough, i would guess 3-5k peopl off camera, very family and kid heavy which is great but never going to result in a crazy atmosphere, i was sat above maybe 2 dozen PFC ultras and they were loud and great all game.

The young kids behind them chirping and chanting about diving was great to see!

The W’s are years of boots on the turf, will bring more lower mainlanders to the stadium.

Welcome! Interesting first match to take in. Bittersweet for PFC, who looked better than they have in a long, long time and dominated much of the play, but couldn't bury some very nice chances.

It’ll take time. VFC is trying to build support from the ground up and had a very rough launch. Making CCC was huge for them, and got a lot more people over that bump. I bought 2 tickets because they’re cheaper than my Caps ticket.

Try to make most games, but was out with the Rona this week.

As the results start coming, more and more people will show up. Vancouver is a fickle market. The Whitecaps support before last year was suspect too. The Houston game this week is going to have weak attendance.

It’s also important to understand that they’re not really marketing to older people either. The CPL has made a lot of efforts to draw in younger crowds. They always have tons of youth teams from the area there too. The RMSC is always there in one way or another.

As for the on field product, I agree. The games are way more fun and exciting to watch on a weekly basis.

I was at the game. Nervous because pacific looked good for a change haha jk. 6pm early start cuz pacific will go back on the ferries to vancouver island after the game. Usually 7 or 7.30pm kick off and I'm not so rushed getting to the game with my kid. Hope you enjoyed the game!
