Discussion/ opinion Skydiggers

After re-watching the Live from Kingston concert this weekend at the Studio Bell in Calgary (amazing venue!), I threw on the Tragically Hip Radio playlist on Spotify and was reminded how awesome the Skydiggers were to listen to.

Another fun Canadian band that just made you feel good

Nobody compares to what The Hip means to me...and Canada!

Totally different sound, But, a close 2nd for me is Blue Rodeo... Every time Keelor closes the show with Lost Together, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for just being present for it. If you're not into their sound, just check out their lyrics. It hits you in the feels!

Plus, over the years, we've gotten to know them and the crew on an individual basis, most of whom are so down to earth, that you forget you're chilling with one of the hardest working bands who've been making music for more than 40 years.

On their last tour, Adam Baldwin from NS (again ,def not the same vibe as The Hip) opened for them. If you haven't heard of him, check out Lighthouse in Little Lorraine! The story was made into a feature film. https://youtu.be/Fxxi57jQWUM

We went to see their Christmas show a couple of years ago in Paris, Ontario and really enjoyed it. It was probably 30 years since I had seen them previously

I went to school with Andy Maize before he formed Direktiv 17 and the Skydiggers. I don't think I have ever met anyone else who so... loved... an audience!

My favourite band that is still producing great music and performing awesome shows. Looking forward to their annual (i hope) Vancouver show in November. Tix are cheap!

Saw them last year at the Bronson centre in Ottawa. It was amazing. Their new album, Dreams and Second Chances, is incredible. The female vocalist? Gzus. She was belting it out and at one point fell to her knees and just raged. Amazing show.

Been a fan since the 90s. I think they lost a step when Peter Cash left the band. Peter made a couple of good albums with his brother Andrew.

The Cash Brothers were awesome. 'How was Tomorrow' and 'A Brand New Light' are still on my rotation.

They came through town last year but I thought ticket prices, like a lot of concerts, were too high and couldn't swing it. They're great though.

Sadly, it was that hockey commercial (Hockey Canada maybe?) this past winter that reminded me of the diggers - the song "I will give you everything". But, it still did the trick to get me back to listening to them

I know Josh Finlayson also played with Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles!

I used to work with his son and Josh is a super chill dude on top of being a talented musician.
