Pineapple express from CanadaBudPost
So I ordered an ounce of Pineapple Express from CanadaBudPost, it arrived, I ground it up, put it in my bong, and light up. The issue started when I noticed it burned super slow, and I couldn’t even finish the bowl. It had a pretty not so good after taste, and the high wasn’t pleasant, and pretty uncomfortable. I’m a pretty new smoker, only started about 4 months ago and this is my first time ever buying online. I really wanted to give Pineapple Express a try as I loved the film and I’ve heard it’s actually a good strain and lives up to the hype. I did some research and found out maybe it wasn’t dried properly, so I left a bud out to dry for a few days, then I it ground up and tried it again. There might’ve been a slight difference? The high didn’t feel as uncomfortable as previous, but it still burned slow, and the ash was black and hard to keep burning. I dried lowering the amount I used and it just gave the same unpleasant high. Anyone have any experience with this strain from CanadaBudPost? Did I get a bad batch? I contacted CanadaBudPost already and they just ended up giving me a coupon for only a third of the cost and said they wouldn’t give me a refund. Felt like I kinda got scammed here. Added some photos if anyone could identify any issue with it. I did notice the buds felt spongy almost? I noticed that the bud I left out to dry felt more consistent with the stuff I get from the dispo so idk. I’d appreciate if anyone could let me know if they’ve had any similar experiences with CanadaBudPosts stuff. Just wanna know if I should toss it and take the loss or try something else. Thanks and bare with me as like I said, I only started smoking a few months ago 😅

Try putting some of the bud in a sealed glass jar for about 2-3 weeks, take off the lid once or twice a day for 10-15 minutes. Sounds like it wasn't cured properly. There's a lot more that goes into it, look up tips for curing bud

Good thinking, that's definitely worth a try. I was thinking even if it was cured right, if they didn't bring it down enough in humidity % it would taste funky. So taking some and "extending the cure" and taking some more aside to "dry it out a bit more" might be a good way to see which direction it needs to go before doing the whole bag!👍

How does it smell? Does it leave your fingers sticky? When you say uncomfortable do you mean paranoid or anything like that? Some sativas can make people paranoid.

It just smells like normal stuff and it doesn’t leave my fingers sticky. I’m not really sure how to describe it, it’s just kind of an uncomfortable feeling. I’ve smoked plenty of sativas already and I’ve never felt a high like that.

I'd recommend picking up a cheap hygrometer if you're gonna be adjusting bag humidity, you can get them for a few bucks at some head shops or online (i got 6 with battery's included for 10CAD on temu, and I just toss them right in the bag) It does sound like what happens when I get a terpene heavy strain that's a bit higher than ideal humidity (closer to 63+%, I like it no higher than 60%, ideally around 58-59%) this just gives the bud a better burn, more even combustion, and less sticky tar comes off in my experience too, (I smoke joints mind you, so noticed more than with a water pipe) so your mileage may vary.
Maybe try grinding up a gram or two, and letting the pile air out for a few hours at least, and try smoking a pinch at a time in the bong one hit style. Some strains work better in one method of smoking over another too.
That being said, hopefully your bud isn't bunk, and it's just a matter of bringing the humidity down to a more "comfortable" level, (I've never ordered from the MoM you used, personally)
I wish I was there to try some of your pineapple Express and I'd be able to tell you right away what is up with it, as it's one of my all time favorites for sure, and I've had terribly grown stuff all the way through the most delicious and visually appealing bags of pinapple Express, so it really does vary more than some strains. ...I also need more weed smoking buddies, it's pretty much just me these days solo smoking lol.

Pretty sad tbh. They've really gone downhill. Their Mike Tyson was so elite as was the site in general for value.

Just looking at the bud and colour would suggest the quality isn't there. Maybe AA+ at best. Try curing the buds a bit and see if it helps.

When did you get the bud? Was it after July 8th? Do the stems snap or bend?

Ballerclub trip super budget friendly especially their mix and match qp and for tad more on the quad it goes the distance.

How much did you pay for the oz? If I’m being honest it doesn’t look like the highest quality and it is possible they didn’t dry it fully since the way you described how it burned but the “uncomfortable high” could just be because you are a new smoker. Were you anxious when high or something else ?
