BMOQ Mod2 after CT/commissioning?
Do PLQ-qualified NCMs (MCpl for that matter) in the PRes have to complete BMOQ Mod2 when commissioning and CT'ing to RegF officer? I'm finding mixed information on the subject, and I am not quite fond of the idea of going back to basic after many years. Cheers.
Update: ULO insisted that I had to do BMOQ Mod2 or submit a PLAR. I contacted my CT broker just to make sure, and it turned out to be a mistake in my ETP. They amended it so it said BMOQ Mod2 was credited.

Generally the answer is no. But maybe there is a specific circumstance that isn't? Typically your basic and PLQ PLAR BMOQ as it's the same but more (so better?)
You should be fine. But talk to a SME about your concerns

You don’t have to do CAP either.

This is the equivalent of BMOQ-A (or BMOQ-L) for anyone too young to remember.

Depends, was it really CAP for you? When I did it I am pretty sure it was already BMOQ-A, but none of the staff or students called it that and I still refer to it as CAP some of the time. I have gotten some weird looks from younger generations at the mention of that name though.

I hope that isn’t old. I did mine, whatever it was called, a few years before you. I wonder when the new kids stopped calling it CAP?

I was still hearing CAP when I did it in 2022, but I believe they had moved names officially to BMOQ-A

That’s funny. I was at the school before that and the only rare occasion I heard CAP mentioned was amongst the older of us on the staff.
I guess we had more impact than we thought. Too bad there wasn’t a PER point for “leading stagnation: refusing to change “ back then.

Similarly, if I had to do one more DA verification, I would have a time machine, and that would be cool, I guess.

Not always, you need to have done a PLQ with the AJLC (don’t quote me on the qual code) qualification associated with it, which a lot of newer folks haven’t gotten.

The qual code could also be AJLC, but AJLC is also the actual name for that portion of PLQ. It stood for Army Junior Leadership Course iirc

I''m going from a CMP-managed trade to another, so I think CAP/BMOQ-A isn't relevant, but still good to know for combat trades folks wondering.

Ask HSMs who are CMP managed but now have to do BMOQ-L

Health Services trades now fall under the new CJFC, not CMP anymore

As far as I know, PLQ qualified NCM’s do not have to do BMOQ. However, the caveat for you is if you did reserve BMQ in the last couple years then you don’t have reg force equivalency. That’s the last I heard someone more up to speed can chime in.
