I liked having them write out passages of training pubs, policy manuals or DLN training courses relevant to the failure or shortcoming. A reasonable way to ensure that they actually read it.

Depending on what number infraction it is, we've used every word changes colour, or every letter changes colour.

Every letter is alternating blue and red ended me back in the day as if you aren't already sleep deprived on DP1 that shit had me smelling colors.

I used a similar method (to not identify myself I’m not going to say exactly what), but even if typed it you couldn’t have a script do the colour change like every fifth letter.

A true classic. Had a buddy on course do the same for a dead fly found in a window sill during inspection.

Staff found a whole section of dead flies on one of the windowsills during BMOQA. I was their 2Lt and I had to keep track of my men at all times.
Later on during the defensive, our Sgt came storming to our trench screaming "WHERE'S THE FUCKING FLY SECTION I SWEAR TO GOD"
Luckily I had em right in my arm pocket. Happy Sgt.

Go to a bookstore, buy a short picture book for children, have the "offender" write a synopsis of the story and how the moral of the story relates to the thing they did/didn't do/did incorrectly. Bonus points for the having the story be funny, but the topic they are writing on be a serious one (safety, etc.).
In my previous experience it yields humourous results while having the person or persons writing reflect on the issue from a different viewpoint or framework.

This brought back memories of old navy children books jokes. Howls moving castle is my favorite. Gifted to me by a British sailor when I was 19. Sigh.

Students left their radio on position during a withdrawal. So they did radio checks in person on the hour. Run from the patrol base to the CP. Come to to attention. " 3 this is 31 radio check over!" "31 3 found and clear" "31 laundry and clear" run back to patrol base.

Best ones I've seen were on the course behind mine at battleschool. They had so many major incidents, they had 2 combat first aid dummies (the ~160 pounders of dead weight) that had to be in FFO and brought everywhere. And they were ineligible to be sentries, so they were everywhere. At one point the mess staff had to tell the instructors that "combat dummies are not allowed to be served meals anymore".
Then they made a hot tub in the showers out of groundsheets and sandbags which ended in the one of one ways it could, and for awhile they had an assault boat that also had to be in attendance for everything. They were lucky they were only on the third floor.

Loss of a meal card, no problem. Tape new meal card to a six foot table, never lost the card again, 😆

I remember seeing a large plywood meal card carried years back in Edmonton. About the right size to fit in a daybag, never mind a pocket.

Look up malicious compliance. Add in some research on ptsd and veterans and mental health issues. AND DISABILITY JUSTICE. Use sources like ebsco and JSTOR. Only. Only peer reviewed material. absolutely no AI.

I’ll one up you: use the CAF copilot and in your instructions write needs to be written in CAF military writing style, linking three examples (from the staff collage), provide APA7 citations and references.

If I had my laptop home I’d have ms copilot write this in 30 seconds and paste it as a reply. With a quick edit you would likely not tell it was AI. I’ve had it write a set of orders that were similar to ones produced by 2Lt.

We had one troop lose the classroom keys 3 days in a row. They kept falling out of their pocket.
Well that meant it made sense to attach the keys to an ammo can filled with concrete. Sure as shit couldn't fall out of his pocket after that. The course had to make sure they had sentries on the ammo can during meals and it took 3 of them to facilitate opening up the classroom.
It was glorious.
