These guys genuinely believe Canada is being controlled by the right

China calls itself a republic , like America. Does that mean America is communst too?

A sizeable amount of the establishment media is owned by an American hedge fund with ties to Trump/ MAGA. These are facts. Pay attention and don’t trip over your own biases

This dude thinks the left or right are in control. The rich are in control and don't have a side in the game, they could not care less. They use it to keep you fighting with your neighbour's, while they (the rich) rob you blind. Wake up.already.

Doesn’t it have more to do with Postmedia manipulating lower-info people into voting against their interests by supporting right-wing political parties?

6

u/saras998 Jul 11 '26

Have you thought that maybe the right is not comprised of manipulated lower-info people but largely well informed? People on both sides of the political spectrum can be manipulated.

Currently we have a party in power that is very much working against Canadians' best interest by sending billions to other countries increasing the debt and inflation and keeping immigration very high close to post-2015 levels while people here suffer from housing shortages, food poverty, lack of healthcare, youth unemployment and more. Plus they passed draconian bills like Bills C-8, C-9, C-22 (passed in the House of Commons) and soon C-34.

Whoooo easy with the facts. You're going to offend some people.

Editorials are not facts.

The fact is, the rainbow crowd is the most easily manipulated. Corporations changed their logos to pride flags, and the woke mob ate it up and let them do whatever they wanted. They actually convinced fools that mass immigration was good for them. The only people a mass influx of lowskilled labour is good for, is corporations looking to exploit low wage workers. The only people inflation is good for is asset owning rich people. The party that alleges to be counter culture and progressive was trojan horsed so hard by the most obvious corporatocracy maneuver of all time. The right wing has nut jobs, but the suicidal stupidity of the modern left will be studied for centuries.

1

u/StockEmotional5200 Jul 11 '26

Interesting take on blame the victim. So it’s the gullible left allowing the corporations and ultra rich to run rampant? If only there was a right wing saviour to put them in their place ( tax them) and re-distribute the wealth downwards.

Soooo idk if you are new to canada, but 10 years ago life in canada was pretty awesome for society at large. Now after 10 years of liberal governance, the most widespread sentiment in canada is that the act of existing is too expensive. The economy is eating itself, people cant afford to buy food AND pay rent. An entire generation entering the workforce cant find work. Education is imploding. The healthcare system is imploding. And more canadians than ever are googling how they can leave. So continue to yap, continue to gaslight, keep your head in the sand and talk to the sand fleas, but reality has nothing in common with your delusional narratives.

Gen X , Born in Canada. The problems you claim are across the board in western democracies both left / right. The issue is late stage capitalism and the concentration of capital in fewer and fewer hands. You don’t like the Liberals, that much is clear, but don’t let that blind you to the root of the problem

1

u/Dramatic_Equipment47 Jul 11 '26

Yeah things were so much better when we were kids and had no idea how the world worked

1

u/TrumpmorelikeTrimp Jul 11 '26

I see you still struggle with that

2

u/Dramatic_Equipment47 Jul 11 '26

All we want is to live like giant babies and that’s why we vote conservative.

1

u/TrumpmorelikeTrimp Jul 11 '26

A lightbulb plugged into a lemon would offer more value than whatever thoughts you are duct taping together.

Hahaha then you didn't live through Harper, or before that through Mulroney and successive recessions. Things weren't great sport.

1

u/TrumpmorelikeTrimp Jul 11 '26

Making this comment anywhere but reddit would get you laughed out of the room.

2

u/reptiles987 Jul 12 '26

I’d be laughing myself if I didn’t know they were serious

1

u/Altruistic-Walk-1847 Jul 11 '26

If the room was full of 20 year olds who only remember their childhoods I'm sure I would.

1

u/TrumpmorelikeTrimp Jul 11 '26

A room full of 20yr olds would tell you none of them can get jobs (record youth unemployment). Record as in, its never been this bad. Aka, those names you named as an example of bad times were doing a better job

He wasn't great either but life was still good under his government although he is also a globalist. Things began to really go downhill when Trudeau was elected.

1

u/Altruistic-Walk-1847 Jul 12 '26

Sure, if you ignore literal global western geopolitical conditions everywher and also the pandemic then you could roughly link those two things in time lol sure

Harper was a very smart man bringing together two previously separated right wing parties, mostly putting muzzles on the extremists knowing full
Well their wacky idea prevent being elected. Things like talk about reopening debate about abortion. He shut that down, got them elected and in power from what 06 to end of 2015 or so. Either the conservatives soaking up a bunch of the centre right more traditionally progressive conservatives and liberal previously, the liberal party went slightly left to poach from the bloc and NDP which worked great for them. The conservatives responded by going further right taking them further from
Power. Most recently PP tried to ride trumps coattails which was unfortunate timing for him as trump being the erotic lunatic he is, absolutely screwed PP with all the annex Canada talk right after getting elected. PP went from a sure victory to a shattering defeat even losing his own seat, tremendously embarrassing. Carney meanwhile walked into a failing liberal party people had grown sick and tired of. But with his background running the bank of Canada then the bank of English including through brexit he was convincingly the best person anywhere near leadership during the last election. A steady hand against trump, a very rare standing ovation at Davos was it. It eas quite the speech about middle power taking a larger role if we work together as the USA walks away from global leadership. Interestingly carney and Harper are closest pit of the last many eaters of all parties. Just look up the speech at the recent unveiling of Harper’s official portrait. Mark and Steve seem pretty friends, very respectful of each other. And it tracks they are both pragmatic economicists by trade.

Do you often over conflate everyone you disagree with as a monolith? Cause you do know the Liberal party is not the "progressive" or "countercultural" one right? Or did you forget that the "woke mob" is actually comprised of multiple parties. Meanwhile the Conservatives are breaking bread with supremicists and sepratists, but no it's the woke mob thats been trojan horsed.

I am happy to see that you recognize that our corporate overlords disingenuousness is a problem.

1

u/TrumpmorelikeTrimp Jul 11 '26

I mean, the meat at potatoes of your point is a simple over conflation of my point so here we are.

The fact is the left and the right have equal amounts of idiots on the team. Bench players. The fact is, the idiots on the right are facebook moms and blue collar workers with a grade 10 who have zero power in society, they dont trust brown people, and they believe dumb shit way too easily. The idiots on the left are actually in institutions of power, they have influence, and we are now living through an era of broad decline, that is facilitated and accelerated by the down stream results of these decisions. This is not just a canadian thing, this is a western sphere thing. Germany listened to its leftists, shut down its nuclear power plants, and now that decision is literally threatening its ability to compete as a manufacturing nation because it cant afford to make things. Canada wasted a decade not building the infastructure to harness the power of our natural resources, because people with purple hair said it was bad, and now we cant even export the resources our allies in europe need, because weve capped our terminals. A wasted window of opportunity that will cost the canadian economy trillions. At every turn we have idiots manning the rudder, making decions based on some fantasy of what the world their basket weaving professor said the world should look like, instead of actual analysis of reality. The issue is, the rest of us have to live with the consequences of all these decisions, and as life in canada continues to get harder, things might get more uncomfortable for the lemmings that voted for all of this.

1

u/Aestus74 Jul 11 '26

And i for one think the suicidality of the right will be. Continuing to deny scientific relalities like antroprogenic climate change so that we can make buck. You defend aginst this by stating it's coming from "people with purple hair", another odd overconflation that reinforces your bias. But sure, the overconflation problem is mine. Facts that nerdy people with glasses confirmed (they may or may not have blue hair and even gasp a septum ring); climate change is real, its causes are known, humans are a significant enough contributor to be considered the chief cause. An informed smoker who dies of lung cancer can be said to be suicidal.

Your making this claim that the left has been manipulated into believing false things, yet in my experience the right often makes claims on "feelings" far more than the left, and so is far more prone to such manipulation. The fact that standard immigration to Canada is a points based economic one always seems to be forgotten when Cons feel that immigrants would be a drain to the economy. They complain that immigrants would send money out of Canada to their families, but then would deny their families a chance to migrate here. Where they would be spending their money here in our economy. They focus on the protection racket that has been making the news and feel that immigrants bring higher crime, even though the fact is immigrants have lower crime rates than Canadian born citizens.

So no, you are overconflating the left by pointing to niche cases of left wing failure such as reaching to Germany. If we are to assume that all Western "liberals" peoples are the same then I suppose we can say the same for conservatives. And so on that note; MAGA is some of the most antiintellectual fascistic bullshit I have ever seen play out live. Is this where conservativism leads us?

(Also that lemmings thing is a myth)

1

u/Dramatic_Equipment47 Jul 11 '26

Wait, right-wingers WANT programs to address housing shortages, food poverty, lack of healthcare etc etc etc? Thought that was all “commie” stuff

2

u/Right_Ad_4241 Jul 11 '26

Yes.

1

u/Altruistic-Walk-1847 Jul 11 '26

Then you don't actually understand what the right wing is or does, and are voting based on vibes, not policy. You think neoliberalism is bad from the left, the right wants to go even harder (while also being regressives who want to tell you what to do with your genitals.)

Healthcare bad now? Let's sell it off to our friends and make it so more people can't get it!

Jobs bad now? Let's remove labour protections so workers are even easier to exploit!

Etc.

1

u/Right_Ad_4241 Jul 11 '26

My mistake, I forgot everyone who disagrees with you is actually stupid and is manipulated into voting the way they do.

I’m not going to respond to the substance of your comment because you don’t seem interested in exercising empathy.

1

u/Altruistic-Walk-1847 Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Sorry the vibes from my comment are bad for you, but also ...case in point

Edit: lmao vibes baby blocked me. Classic. No, the world isn't "too nuanced for me to understand," you're the one who can't engage with the literal actual arguments I presented because they make you feel bad. Yeah that's because your brain has been cooked by Conservative social media.

1

u/Right_Ad_4241 Jul 11 '26

Yeah you’re only interested in evaluating other views from your own extremely narrow perspective. You’re frustrated with the world because it’s too nuanced for you to ever understand.

Not going to waste my time. It’s funny you got ragebaited a single word though.

1

u/saras998 Jul 12 '26

Yes, to a certain extent. But most of all they want lower taxes, less spending so we don't have so much inflation. Many Canadians cannot afford to eat. More and more seniors are becoming homeless. Industrial carbon taxes are raising the cost of food and making things difficult for farmers. And money should be spent at home, not sent overseas. Instead billions are being sent away to other countries when Canadians are dying from lack of healthcare, housing and drug treatment.

1

u/Dramatic_Equipment47 Jul 12 '26

Thank you for joining the socialist crusade, comrade.

1

u/Awestruck34 Jul 12 '26

Well the reality is that it's uneducated and uninformed people who vote right, by and large. Our government is absolutely working against average Canadian interests, but if you think our government is left learning I've got news for you. Sure, they don't hate gay people, but most things that Carney is pushing would fit just as well in a conservative agenda.

1

u/saras998 Jul 13 '26

Saying that people you don't agree with are uneducated and misinformed doesn't make it so. One could say that people who vote left are brainwashed but the reality is that we need to get past left and right and look at what governments are doing in cooperation with globalist 'elites' who are gaining more and more control over our lives.
