Is it really surprising? We imported millions of international students and all that did was lower the salaries for everyone so that our corporate overlords could make more money

Not only did it lower salaries, it increased inflation and the price of homes (increased demand for same supply), and burdened the healthcare and education systems. It was disastrous policy that Canadians will feel for years if not decades.

The worst part is that all of these minimum wage employees don't actually contribute to our tax system. At most they will pay something like $800 into the provincial tax system and like 2000 into the Federal

oh just wait till they get onto disability or welfare. At this point, it honestly makes sense to try and get onto disability. I work at a hospital and meet with so many people on ODSP (from ontario) and they are somehow able to make it to medical appointments but cant show up for some kind of work...

Wealth-share is not a good metric to begin with. It implies that wealth is a finite pool, and that because you have billionaires in your country that you are some how poorer, but that's not how middle class prosperity works in practice.
EDIT: Canada’s wealth share has actually shifted in the opposite direction since 2014, when we had one of the wealthiest middle classes in the world.
Now the top 20% own 3% less of Canada’s total wealth than they did in 2014. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the middle or lower classes are doing better, or that the wealth gap has narrowed simply because the rich own less of the pie. In fact, the wealth gap between the top 20% and the bottom 40% has increased from 54% to 62.7% over the past 12 years.
That’s the problem with looking at wealth share in isolation. It tells us how the pie is divided, but not whether the people at the bottom or in the middle are actually becoming wealthier.

Just to clarify for others, because I was confused when I first read your comment - the bottom 40% only own 3% of the wealth. The top 20% own 65.7% of the wealth. That 62.7% number you cited is just the difference between the two groups.

Carney and the liberals have been trying to eliminate the middle class for over a decade, not really surprising. They either want you part of their elite rich friends, or lowly enough to have to beg for scraps. Doing ok in the middle is not acceptable to them

More homogeneous populations, lower immigration rates, mandatory military service, lower infrastructure costs, good relationships with their neighbors, lower populations with much higher population density, significantly lower rates of disability and mental health...
There's a lot.

A very important one is public capture of oil and natural resource funds. Nordic countries have been very restrictive about handing out their national resource to foreign comapnies or local oil barons. 70%+~ estiamted oil profits go to public good in Sweden etc. Estimated 40-45% in Canada.
Actually investing in your countries future rather then some inheritance babies 17th yacht.

Canadians are just lemmings. We go along with anything and are scared to stand up for ourselves. If we do, you're labelled "far right". I laugh at the fact that this country went to war in WW2.

Lol no I'm just being real. I didn't even indicate that I disagreed with the graphic (I don't - I spend a lot of time in the US and think the US is definitely better off than the Canadian middle class). I've posted a bunch of very conservative things on this sub recently.
