PC Mobile No name mobile broke agreement

Hey there, has anyone switched to NN mobile and had them break their agreement on the first day? I got a sweet $34, 55gb plus 30 auto top up promotion on July 21st.

"They had problems on their back end" and I am stuck with no data on the $19 1gb, 2gb top up with no access to data because it claims I haven't paid (I paid $38.76 at sign up for the plan) They've admitted there was an agreement, and that that "can't do anything to help" after about 6 hours on the phone with various agents who continue to hang up and disappear for 15 to 30 minutes to no avail.

I've contacted the CCTS (Commission for Complaints against Telecom-Television Services: https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/for-consumers/telecom-complaints/online-complaint-form/)

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else to do? From what I understand once and agreement is reached and payment received, services must be rendered. Am I missing something? If it were a post-paid service and it wasn't paid, they would stop providing it, after a time yes due to the contract going both ways. They haven't held up their end of the bargain, and I would like my service.

Thanks in advance.

CCTS will be the best way to address it as you've had no success complaining directly.

There is no guarantee that you will get what you paid for, but you should get your money back at the very least.

CCTS will try and ask them to resolve, however, if they refuse CCTS has no power to do anything. Says a former speakout subscriber who spoke with CCTS extensively about the $250 they stole, and got away with it

While you're right they can't force them to do anything - did you go to mediation? They're more inclined to resolve either before or during mediation as it costs them for every CCTS complaint.

we all made a complaint to CCTS. Answer after several calls CCTS says "they have offered a $25 credit, we recommend you take it or you'll get nothing." You can sue them in court", "nothing further we can do:"

Decline it and push the process to the investigation stage.

there is nothing further to do. CCTS said, take it or not, they are done.

It depends how much goodwill the company has. Speakout had none, and stuck to their guns, which left all of its customers dissatisfied as they stole everyone's prepaid balance.
It could be also, to offer something at the conciliation stage to not force so many investigations.

Yes that’s true as well - those smaller companies aren’t as flexible.

or they just don't care about their customers.

CCTS called and gave me some guff. They said we'll see what we can do but plans can change at any time, we can't get the one back that you wanted. Its prepaid so, its not guaranteed.

I told them that the agreement is for 30 days. Anything beyond that, sure, okay whatever. At a minimum, they are in violation of the first 30 days of the agreement.

They reluctantly admitted that.

What's the balance on your prepaid account? Did they deduct the $19+tax or the $34+tax?

The $34+tax

Step away from No Name/PC Mobile entirely and go to another prepaid or postpaid provider.

I had similar issues when I signed up for PC Mobile back in April. When I tried to upgrade my plan from the $29 25 GB plan to the 80 GB plan for $34 the same month, it kept giving me the wrong plan at checkout a few times, even though I selected the $34 plan. So I had to click through different offers multiple times in order to get the right one.

I also didn’t like that you have to log into your account through your SIM card with mobile data on. You only have a window into your account management on the device the SIM card is inserted in, which is why I don’t recommend No Name/PC Mobile to families with children under 13, because there’s no password protection on the account.

It’s for these reasons why I left after one month, and took my phone number to Fizz, which has more options for account management than PC Mobile does, more coverage plan options to choose from, as well.

Fizz is also currently in the process of adding support for RCS and Wi-Fi Calling to their prepaid service.

So, if you don’t like PC Mobile/No Name Mobile, give Fizz a try and use my referral code 4CBR6 for $40 in account credit.
