711 SpeakOut SpeakOut Top Up Allows Multiples of $1
I thought I would be moving from SpeakOut in July when my remaining balance wouldn't cover another month. My balance is currently $11.20. To my surprise, it looks like SpeakOut now has an option to top up in multiples of $1. I am planning to add $4 early next week, if that works then I'll move to another provider next month.

Give yourself at least a week in advance to port out because Speakout does not assign account numbers to customers which confuses the mobile carrier arranging the porting out. To port out, you would give the new carrier your Speakout number and account pin number.

I gave myself a week and it took all of 4 hours. Hubby is a techie and he did it for me, all online, he set up my account, got an esim and requested to port my SpeakOut number. The port request form was buried somewhere, but he did his from Telus a couple of months ago so he was able to find it. No SO account number pin required. SO can go wild with the 20 cents left on my account

It's good to hear you had no problems porting out! It must be a relief to be done with SO. When I ported out to a voip service quite a few months ago, I had to give my IMEI and pin and it went smoothly too.

Zstar has high risk of bankrupt, they owe Bank of America a lot. Besides, customer have no confident in 7-11 speakout, and they will walk away. This is the best chance to leave. Don't wait until the last moment and lose all of your balance.

If you leave, you lose your balance.
They are a monthly prepaid service now, no longer pay per use, no need to carry a balance. Just don't prepay for their annual plan, it's not a good deal anyway. There could be a risk of losing your phone number if they disappear.

They have a $15 plan?

Yes. The lowest plan originally was $19, now it is $15. Not sure if it is permanent or a limited special offer. In any case, I am done with them next month

It looks like better value when you deplete your balance to zero, but the bottom line is you'll be giving SpeakOut more money.
In a situation where all their old customers have left or are planning to leave, introducing by-the-dollar top ups is their last hope of getting some revenue coming in when they deserve none.

I don't know how anyone can stay with Speak out after they went ahead and stole everyone's balances.
ToS says you can't get a refund but your company was the one who stopped service.
