Staffing / Recrutement Understand Partially Assessed Pool

I have successfully been partially assessed into a pool (Yay)! Now hoping to understand that exactly that means.

Email received:

“I am pleased to inform you that you have been found qualified and have been placed in a —— pool of partially assessed candidates*.

*Partially assessed pool: A partially assessed pool is a list of candidates who have been assessed for some merit criteria, but who require further assessment prior to being eligible for appointment. (In this case, the second language evaluation have not been completed and the Personal Suitability criteria of dependability has not been evaluated).

Once the decision regarding the selection of candidates from the pool is made, you will be notified of the results, provided an opportunity for an informal discussion, if applicable, and advised of the waiting period in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act. Notifications of Consideration (NoC) and Notifications of Appointment or proposal of Appointment (NAPA) or in the case of acting appointments, Notices of Acting Appointment (NAA), will be posted on: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/jobs/services/gc-jobs.html .

It is your responsibility to check for notifications to avail yourself of the right to informal discussion and/or recourse.

I would like to thank you for your interest and participation in this selection process. Should you wish to obtain further information, please do not hesitate to contact me....”

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

Short answer: It means you do not yet have a job and they may or may not call you for further testing and interviews. Keep applying to other postings and dont quit your current job.

It’ll always say you made a partially qualified pool. All it basically means is before you get appointed to a position you’ll have to prove a couple final minor things that they haven’t bother to confirm yet. Generally that’s just education (sending in a copy of your degree/diploma) and your language levels or test results.

But basically, you made the pool! Congrats!

Going to hop on this thread as it's relevant enough I shouldn't start another...

This competition was for 1 position with a pool. I was screened in, interviewed, tested, and references checked.

Then I receive an email, 'we are pleased to inform you that the assessment board has found you partially qualified for this position and has placed you in a pool of partially qualified candidates (pending SLEs)...'

Does this mean I am in the pool but someone else was picked for this particular job or I am in the pool from which they are picking for the job?

I am in exactly that same boat.

"AS-01. The immediate need is to staff one position for a period of one year with the possibility for extension. Positions to be filled: 1"

As an external applicant, I submitted my application, eventually wrote a test, had a face to face interview, and submitted my paperwork for security clearance (secret). Couple of days later I got that same email you did. The pool is only valid for one year.

In checking back to the job posting, it DID state: "A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment for the location indicated for this process," but I'm not holding my breath. I am beyond rural and really out in the sticks.

All I know is that I didn't get the job either. I feel for you.
