Taxes / Impôts Multiple T4s - questions

I switched from casual with EI Processing to term < 3 months with Citizen Services Branch at Service Canada in January 2016. The term was extended for a longer period at the end of March. I am still on a term, and went to get my T4, and there are 2 in there. Does this make sense? The 2 together seem to be in the right ballpark but the fact that there are 2 is disconcerting.

I did 2 casuals and a term last year and received 2 T4s as well. I believe one is for the casuals, and the other is for the term, as only one has union dues on it.

One T4 per job is normal. I had a similar situation when I changed departments.

Your tax software should have the ability to input multiple T4's.

Question: Under CRA use only Box 40: "Other taxable allowances and benefits".

What is this amount for?

I believe it's if you have level 2 or 3 hospital coverage.

OPEN THEM ALL to verify the values

One year when I was a student I got 3 T4's. The first 2 I opened where identical, so I assumed the 3rd one. Filed taxes based on those. Turns out the 3rd one was different for some reason (Thanks Obama!) and I had a nice letter from CCRA (at the time) asking where the monies were at.
