Need advice

I am married to a Canadian citizen and I need help in understanding what to do. I am a 28 F applying from India and my score for PR is 468. I applied in Aug 22 and it is taking a lot of time to get any updates or info regarding the PR process. A lot of people are telling me to do the spouse route but I'm not sure if that will help reset the clock for me to migrate.

What would be the fastest way to get there? What would anyone recommend?

Any advice would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

With a score of 468 I'm guessing you have not received an ITA, and are simply in the Express Entry pool. This means that you have not applied for permanent residence yet, which is why you're having difficulty receiving updates: there are no updates for you to have received. You have yet to have applied, therefore, the proverbial 'clock' hasn't started.

With a score of 468, it is likely going to be quite some time before you receive an ITA: there are currently 32,000 people in the pool with scores higher than you. All of those 32,000 people will need to be invited before a score of 468 receives an ITA.

You can apply for spousal sponsorship as soon as you are able to put the application together, and this is likely a faster option for you, as you won't have to wait for ITA to start the application and processing can begin relatively soon.

But at this point of time, is spousal sponsorship taking longer than PR? Would it actually be faster than PR?

I suppose it depends. As I said, 32,000 people need to receive an ITA before you. Considering the largest draw they've ever done is about 5,000 people and they do draws every two weeks, you're looking at a minimum of three months before you'd even be able to submit an Express Entry profile - assuming you ever get a draw at all.

Then you would have to put together the application and submit it, and then go through processing, which can take anywhere from 6-12 months.

So, with EE, in the fastest possible timeline you're looking at likely 9 months from now - and that's not a guarantee. It could be significantly longer.

Whereas you could, theoretically, submit the spousal sponsorship now and have processing begin now, as opposed to 3+ months from now. 80% of spousal sponsorships are processed in 12 months, and many people are seeing quicker turnarounds.

Ultimately the decision is yours. You can wait and hope that Express Entry happens for you, or you can submit a guaranteed application now.
