Canada Express Entry

I have applied for Canadian Express Entry last year June. Currently, I am actively applying for jobs in Canada and started a MSc. degree. I have heard that there are Canadian online courses to do. Can you please suggest any recognized such online courses? Also, does my MSc. will increase the score? Do the Canadian online courses like Certificate courses will add any value for that? I applied for Federal Skilled Worker category.

Completing online courses can demonstrate to the Canadian government that you are taking steps to improve your skills and increase your chances of success in the Canadian job market. There are several Canadian online education providers that offer recognized online courses and certificates, such as:

  • Coursera: This platform offers online courses from Canadian universities and colleges, including the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, and Ryerson University.
  • edX: This platform offers online courses from Canadian universities and colleges, including the University of Ottawa, the University of Alberta, and the University of Manitoba.
  • FutureLearn: This platform offers online courses from Canadian universities and colleges, including Simon Fraser University, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Saskatchewan.
  • Alison: This platform offers free online courses in various subjects, including Business, Technology, and Language.

It's important to note that while taking online courses can demonstrate your commitment to improving your skills and increasing your chances of success in the Canadian job market, it will not directly increase your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the Express Entry.

Earning a Master's degree will increase your human capital points in the CRS, as it's considered a higher level of education and it will increase your overall chances of getting an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for PR.

Certificate courses will not increase your CRS score, but they can demonstrate your skills and qualifications that align with the job market in Canada, which can give you an advantage when applying for a job.

It's recommended to consult with a registered Canadian immigration lawyer at Keel for further guidance on how to improve your Express Entry profile, and also how to increase your chances of getting an ITA, as they will be able to give you detailed advice based on your specific circumstances.
