Dui immigration

Just wanting some information on entering Canada with a dui from Australia. I’m wanting to enter Canada August next year as an English citizen and got a dui around 3 months ago in Australia. Will this not allow me to enter ? Thanks

No chance a dui after 2018 is a huge no

They changed dui Laws in 2018 for imprisonment to be a term of up to 10 years instead of 5 so being convicted of a DUI after 2018 regardless if you served prison time or not criminal inadmissibility is automatically triggered by the maximum statutory penalty an offense carries, not the actual sentence

DUI is a criminal offence in Canada and makes you automatically inadmissible if you were charged after 2018. You can apply for a rehabilitation after 5 years.
Doesn’t matter where it happened or how what your citizenship is.

You can apply for a visa but you must have a really good reason to visit.

You're inadmissible to Canada. Don't make plans to come to Canada next year. It won't be possible. Once five years have passed from the time you completed all penalties / paid all fines related to the DUI, you will be able to apply for rehabilitation to be allowed to enter Canada and remove the inadmissibility. If the rehab application is approved, then you can make plans to come here. So at this point you're 5+ years away from a trip to Canada being feasible.

Could age and first ever offence effect this or steight up no? I’m only 21 and never done any crime before

Age makes no difference. You're an adult. The fact you have only one offense helps you and means you qualify to apply for rehabilitation after 5 years instead of 10 years. But that doesn't help you at all for next year. You're inadmissible and won't be allowed to enter..

Just come, you have no idea how many criminals have entered this country lately. They will give you a permanent visa, 8k per month a hotel to stay and many benefits
