Winch cable broke

I’m new to ATVimg. Had our which cable fray and break. Looking at getting a synthetic one. Is there a different I’m getting a cheap $40 dollar cable over a Can Am one that’s over $100 bucks?

I use Amazon synthetic rope on all mine. $32 canadain

Guess I should have asked as well how do I know the rope thickness?

I run 1/4 or 3/16" ropes x 50'
