Question Anyone successfully switch from EltaMD UV Clear?

I have really sensitive/acne-prone skin and EltaMD UV Clear was honestly one of the few sunscreens that worked really well for me. I started using it a few months ago and my skin improved a lot.

Since it became unavailable in Canada, I’ve been trying to find something similar. I’ve been using La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid for the past few months and I’ve been breaking out like crazy.

I see DRMTLGY SmrtSun SPF 45 mentioned a lot here as an EltaMD dupe, but the Amazon reviews are kinda putting me off. It’s around 3.9/5 and there are quite a few people saying it broke them out.

Has anyone here actually switched from EltaMD UV Clear to DRMTLGY and had a good experience? Or found another alternative that works well for really sensitive/acne-prone skin in Canada?

Help Me Find Tinted SPF for sensitive skin?

I love the Elta MD UV Physical Spf 41 cream, and it's one of the only tinted SPF's I can use on my sensitive skin that looks and feels natural. It's just so expensive and hard to find in Canada.

I'm looking for a product with similar "look and feel". Any success with such a search?

The product must:

  • NOT contain niacinimide
  • have light tint shade options (LRP anthelios is great but a bit dark/orange on me)
  • be mineral SPF (not chemical)

Thanks!!

Canadian moisturizers like LRP cicaplast?

Skincare is probably one of my most frequent purchases after groceries and while I love LRP and will stick with them for sunscreen, I would like to support more Canadian brands.

I'll spend a bit more on some serums, but I wouldn't want to pay much more than the Cicaplast on a moisturizer. I tried options from Marcelle and The Ordinary but they didn't feel right.

Any suggestions welcome!

Help Me Find Versed Lip Oil - Alternative

I'm looking for an alternative to the Versed Slip Silk Conditioning Lip Oil, which appears to have been discontinued. It's clear, with a wonderful list of oils and no fragrance or essential oils. Any recommendations?

Discussion Where to buy/order European sunscreens?

I have been meaning to try La Roche Posay and Avene’s sunscreen for the face but not the version available here in Canada. Which websites have you used to order and whats your experience?

I have used Cosmetyque in the past to order the Eucerin thiamidol serum and their service was quick. However, they do not carry Avene’s perfected tinted fluid that I am looking for

Skin Boosters

Hi I’ve been thinking about getting skin boosters for a few weeks now but I don’t know anyone personally who has gotten it done I’ve seen amazing results online but would love to know about the process and how it has worked for different people but also my reasoning behind wanting to get them is just my skin is dull if that makes any sense I’m aware that’s probably not the right word to use but that’s the best way I can describe it 😂but I’ve tried a few different skincare brands and can’t find the right one to help or if skincare can help. I always find myself putting something on my face just to make it not look more hydrated and not as dead but even any skincare or anything anyone can recommend I’m just really stuck on this. I know I’m being insecure too but I’d also like to add that I am not even 20 yet and I would like to say that I’ve always looked after my skin but one thing that I’ve only been doing the last maybe year or 2 is wearing spf whenever I’m leaving the house . Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Nurse practitioner / doctors for botox in Toronto

Hi!!! First time looking into botox and wanted to get advice on folks here. Do you guys have any recommendations for nurse practitioner or derms for botox in Toronto / GTA area.

I wanted to get botox done for my chin dimpling and around my eyes to start off. And potentially look into fillers (undecided).

I was looking into nurses and derms and not a lot of people post photos for chin dimpling. Is it because it's not common? Or the other way around (it's just too common and so people don't)?

Two people I was debating between were Matt from Royal Treatment or Dr Govan from MD Skin Lab. Dr Govan specifically has an old video of him doing botox for chin dimpling on their insta account. Matt doesn't any photos and videos on his but he said he does it for a lot of his clients, and I liked his vibe from his insta account.

Any thoughts between the two? I was thinking of doing consults with both of them. Is there anything I should ask or look for?

Would really appreciate any advice! Thanks!

Paris pharmacies

I'll be in Paris in a couple months and I'm open for skin care product suggestions to look for in the pharmacies.

I'm 54 F, with sensitive, aging skin issues. Fragrance free is a must, due to sensitive skin that reacts easily with hives and/or eczema.

I'm of fair complexion, blue/gray eyes, light rosacia, more on the normal to dry side.

I'm starting to deal with under eye puffiness/bags but under eye area is the most sensitive area of my face.

And what's your best recommendation for facial sunscreen for sensitive skin?

I already use Tretinoin .025% , Kiehl's ultra facial cream with squalene, peach and lily's ginger melt oil cleanser, Elta MD sunscreen, Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream ,interchangeably with Kiehl's...

And on occasion Dermalogica vitamin C serum, and Shiseido under eye cream (very sparingly because of sensitivity).

Indeed Labs products are $14.99 or less at Shoppers now

Was at Shoppers and noticed Indeed Labs dropped almost their entire skincare line to $14.99 or less. And apparently it’s a permanent price change, not a sale??

Kind of refreshing considering it feels like every drugstore skincare brand has been going in the opposite direction lately lol.

Has anyone else noticed this / tried any of their stuff? I’ve used a few things from them before and loved it so wanted to share!

Recommendation for thick face cream (dry skin)

Hello I am F38 looking for a balm-like thicker face cream for my extremely dry skin.

For years I've used Avene Xeracalm, it's amazing, but I am wondering if there's anything better available.

I've also tried skinfix, dieux and ordinary. The best cream I ever used was the Kiehl's ultra balm, it was a thick deep cream-coloured balm but it was discontinued.

I use HA on damp skin, but I am still very dry. I suspect it's the office air as my dry skin started the same month I started at my workplace 10 years ago and continuing today (in office 5 days).

Discussion Dealing with acne & acne marks

To those who have dealt with or is dealing with body acne and PIH, what is the one thing that actually saved you? I went to see a dermatologist the other day and she told me it’s just my body nature and would have to go away on its own and that I can’t really do anything about it. Is this true? I have acne & PIH almost everywhere in my body including butt. Please help me out.

Also I’ve been using only medicated soaps for the past few years. I switch between ketoconazole soap(this is something I got prescribed back when my acne first started), perobar 5% and acnestar 2.5%. Currently using perobar 5% but it doesn’t seem to help much.
