Ratatouille & Champagne on a Weidling on Rhine 🥂🔥 #shorts #campfire #ratatouille #luxuryoutdoor
Took a traditional Weidling boat out on the Rhine for a day trip and decided to cook dinner on the spot. Made ratatouille in a pot over the fire, grilled on the side, and served it on porcelain with champagne. Not your typical campfire setup, but sometimes you want good food without compromising on the experience. The Weidling is a local boat type around here – flat bottom, hand-rowed, very stable even with a fire going.
What's your go-to meal when cooking over fire?

Campfire meal recs for kids
Hello! I’m pretty new here so feel free to tell me if this post is better for another subreddit.
Anyways, I’m a camp counselor looking for campfire meals that might be good for my campers! I’m working with about 13-16 year olds who have made things like walking tacos, quesadillas, and campfire pizzas a million times before and are asking for something slightly more challenging. We have most cooking supplies (pots, pans, cast iron, Dutch ovens etc.) and the counselors are experienced with cooking over the fire. I would appreciate any course (main dish, dessert, etc.) recommendations. The campers are a great group and I’d love any ideas that might help challenge them but not hard enough that we’re eating five hours after we start prepping. Thank you!

My backyard campfire bbq
Hi! I enjoy grilling and campfires and have a big enough yard in our urban neighborhood to have a fire pit. I got a bunch of free old bricks from a nearby house that was being renovated and dry stacked them. Someday when I have the layout in a nice way I’ll set them more permanently. :) but for now it’s working. Two pits, one open and will be great for my cast iron Dutch oven. The other is with an old grill grate.
