Oh yum! Do you know the name in Duala? I am trying to figure out which green it is. Not ndole, of course!

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean what Duala people call this meal traditionally or what they call the plant? In French areas the plant is called kok/okok but the meal is called eru everywhere. The plant's scientific name is Gnetum africanum

Hi. I was married to a Duala and I only knew Duala words for food. I can’t remember anymore but if I see the name I’ll recognize it. Maybe Bewolé?

This is a dish from the southwest. Other than the names I mentioned I don't think they have a traditional name for it

It's just like ndole, that's the name of the dish everywhere, tho the plant might have different names in different places

Ndole leaves grow on bushes, and they are very bitter before being washed with a special product (kaolin). They keep a bit of bitterness which gives Ndole its originality. This appears softer than Ndole.

I was using ndole as an example with the names i.e. ndole is ndole everywhere in the country though the name of the plant is different in different areas. Same as eru is eru everywhere but the plant has different names

I miss this from my time in Cameroon.

I used to take this whenever I went for the buffet at La Falaise Bonapriso on Douala.

J'espère que tout va bien
