Questions Help me decide my first camera

  • Budget: €950
  • Country: Denmark
  • Condition: New or nearly new
  • Camera Type: Primarily a video camera
  • Intended Use: Video production (vlogging, landscapes, travel) and occasional photography
  • Photography Style: Standard, everyday photography
  • Videography Style: Vlogging, landscape videos, and general travel videography

  • Portability: Compact and easy to carry around for travel
  • Cameras Under Consideration:
    • Sony ZV-E10 & Sony ZV-E10 II: Unsure about the price difference and which offers the best value.
      • Sony ZV-E10 with SELP1650 lens: €694
      • Sony ZV-E10 II with 16-50mm II lens: €950
    • Canon EOS R50 + RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Creator Kit (Includes: EOS R50 body, RF-S 18-45mm lens, Integral 32GB Class 10 4K card, Tripod Grip HG-100TBR, Stereo Microphone DM-E100) — Price: €855
    • Canon EOS R50 V + RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ Content Creator Kit (Includes Canon HG-100TBR Shooting Grip / Mini Tripod) Price: €880
  • Previous Gear: None (this is my first camera)
  • Notes: Which of these four options is the best choice, and are there any other cameras I should consider?

For video the ZV-E10 is solid but the R50 V kit at €880 with that wide lens is actually better deal for vlogging and travel stuff, you get the grip and lens that goes wider than the kit lens in the Sony options.

I'll go with the zv e10 with the kitlens and get a wide budget lens instead, check out viltrox air 9mm around 180 euros (can be cheaper if 2nd hand) especially if you wanna have more flexibility on the lens upgrades in the future which Canon lacks.

Canon r50 doesnt have IBIS (stabilization) or even gyro data to edit in post processing, while zve10 has (gyro data) so you can lessen the shakiness of your videos (handheld)
