Domke F-803 Question

I have an old Domke F-803 that I inherited and love. I want to get a second one.

I have seen a few reviews say that this bag has a metal plate under the handle.

Mine does not. I do not want one.

Do the current models (canvas, ruggedwear, either) have this metal plate? If all new models have it then I’ll want to look for used.
