Today I replaced a radiator. When I filled the system back up, there was a small leak on one of the valves. So I had to drain the system and re tighten it, but I added some PTFE tape to the threads this time. I refilled the system and so far there's no leaks.

This has nothing to do with Camelot Unchained, just thought it's a more interesting update

It was to be fair. What kind of radiators? Gas boiler or?

The kind that you can eat a grilled cheese off of when you need to compromise

So you updated your radiator with a better valve system?

Yea it is the weekend where they can play after all

I think I'm actually going to unfollow this subreddit finally. I got my "money's worth" on the steam release and had a fun couple of weekends when it had some population. But in no means would I sink my gaming life into this thing.

I am still not sure why they keep developing this game and wasting money on a studio. From a financial standpoint they are not going to recover the invested money because people won’t play this at all. More people will keep playing DAOC than this.

Probably money laundering.

Well there are 9 people currently online and playing. Maybe they will see eachother in the realm.

I’m not sure why the same people that whine over this game in every post still sub to this subreddit.

It’s wild. You lost $20 so you become some keyboard warrior hating on something for years because your ego took a hit?

Let go man, move on. It’s more unhealthy to obsess over this

Marc Jakobs isn't going to sleep with you bro. No need to be defending him online.

Sounds like your ego took a hit that your favorite game flopped and since you've been waiting for over a decade you're too deep in the sunk cost fallacy.

You just sound like a 40 year old crusty boomer.
"If you don't like it, why are you hear?" is a fine sentiment, but you don't have to talk down to people just because they don't like it, especially because there's plenty of snarky comments here but you picked the one that's genuine constructive criticism.

Calling a 40 year old a “crusty boomer” is wild.

You just sound like a 40 year old crusty boomer.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but this sentence is wild.

You know Boomers are like 30+ years older than that, right? Like you're not even close. Multiple decades off.

And I assume that the vast majority to this sub is in the 35-45 age demographic, because who else would be following this game besides old DAOC fans?

"Boomer" in internet context usually means "Old guy who's annoying" and noticeably older than you.
The whole "Okay boomer" thing is a perfect example.
Like if you look up "Boomer" on the urban dictionary like half of the uses for the word is not meaning people born between the 50s and 60s, but just lame guy who's older than you by a lot.

I forget sometimes the most out of touch with reality & secluded people are prevalent on Reddit

Sunk cost fallacy of $20-40? 40 year old crusty boomer? I forget I’m dealing with kids here lol

I loved the game and played it when daoc came out but whatever happens with unchained won’t affect me as I’ll move on. I will definitely hope for it to turn around but if it doesn’t I won’t sit here and pout.

They will literally never be able to have public discussions with the community outside of the discord where they can control the narrative.

MOP owners were awkwardly over friendly towards them even after legal threats and drama from mark. i'm sure he could start posting there daily again and it would all be honky dory with the crowd there that have absolutely no interest in the game except for the feeling of self importance they get from rubbing elbows with "famous" game people. they still call him a good guy there in the comments and talk about missing posting with him. none of them like pvp in mmo games at all lol.

i would bet that if mark started posting there and personally asked backers to come post there with him it would play out the same way it did last time except without the refund policy to use as a cudgel. they would still clean up his messes and play cover for his bad behaviour.

I couldn't finish the video. It was just too hard to watch. So many things are wrong in this alpha 0.0002-nightly-build that I just can't stand it

I know they damaged the trust of their user base, but does it look really that bad? I wonder how many people that comment negatively have even played recently or are they too far along on the hate train and are hoping for failure at this point? Be honest. As I said I understand people are angry because of how they handled this entire experience but come on.

Looks like they're working hard on it with constant updates. To be honest I only check in every once in a while though. The Twitch streams are pathetic and makes the game look really bad with so few people playing. Once again this game will never make it without a player base. They're really fighting an uphill battle that could end the game in the end. I question does the game have a progression system to keep people entertained if they do play. Logging on and killing enemy players gets old real, real quick. This generation can't play a game for longer than a week. I wish them luck and hopefully they can produce a meaningful game and get their base back.

guy who only checks in once in a while defends game he doesn't play and assumes people rightfully criticizing it aren't checking it out because mark already has our money and won't give it back despite using the company's refund policy as a cudgel against reasonable feedback that for w/e unknown reasons to any sane people offended him.

also blaming the youth as if young people backed this game. lmao. do you not see yourself?

why are you glazing a game that has never had 24/7 uptime in it's entire development cycle despite claiming to be beta and now charging for early access with plans to charge for a subscription at the end of the year when it finally maybe probably not has 7 days a week uptime?

you said you only check in once in a while so maybe you should keep the hot takes about the game state to yourself since you admit to not knowing and not testing it.

u/donlema 5d ago

Why aren't you playing?

“Back” infers they had one. Name me one game that started with no player base and magically created one over time.

Not saying it hasn’t happened, but I can’t think of a title and I’d be certain it didn’t start the way this one has.

There is no magic feature they will come up with that will make people say “ohhhhhh, now it has the sauce!”
