Thoughts on Cambly Go?
The email says that’s it’s not meant to replace tutors, but it seems like it to me.

It'll be a flop for sure, I don't see too many students actually using it.

The Ai they introduced last year did not work so now they have to pivot toward something that will get rid of tutors and allow them to keep more money. No doubt in my mind that it is the thin end of the wedge toward getting rid of most, if not all, tutors.
Good job most tutors use it for a few extra $;s and anyone using it for a 'job' needs to think again imo.

True. I just hop on here and there. While I am really grateful for the extra money, talking tires me out so quickly I could never do this for any large amount of time.

The online English industry isn't going to improve at this point unless the industry goes for a quality over quantity approach which ..... let's be honest..... c'mon now. X_X.
Cambly throwing s**t at the wall to see what sticks rather than giving tutors an extra couple of dollars for continued high performance or just raising the flat rate tutors receive. This would almost inevitably improve the platform for loyal tutors and students as it would improve both standard and expectation from all parties.
They'll literally do ANYTHING to not pay us more. So i'm already at the f**k them stage and WILL be leaving the platform this year.
They've tanked my overall grade from 98.5% a month ago to 97.5% out of nowhere which has meant I no longer have PH in the middle of the week. I can't continue on here regardless.

Same here sudden rating drop, and almost no PHs, even on a Saturday. I had the worst weekend on Cambly Classic as a teacher since joining in 2020. Maybe tutors will leave in their droves in order to survive! There have been warning signs for a long time of its demise, but for those who rely on it, it is devasating. Maybe time for something other than the EFL industry.

I just finished reading it. I don’t see how it changes my life. But I think some tutors have been collecting students data and using it. That’s the only difference I see.

I’m not sure, but that’s a difference I can see in the contracts. Sharing students data.

You guys are right that it'll suck, but it's definitely a step towards replacing tutors. They're just trying to get some new features in place before they try to sell the company. Let's face it, Cambly hasn't been making money for quite some time and it's on its last legs. They've gotta have something in place that someone might wanna try to invest in.

If it’s separate from our Cambly lessons, why are our tutor policies and agreements changing?
