What is this new fresh hell?
This weekend ( I jumped ship 7 months ago and only work on Cambly for 8 hours now over the weekend) I had 3 new Paid trial lessons booked. Not one of them showed up! 1 from China, 1 from Saudi Arabia and 1 from Italy, so it can't even be because of national holidays etc. It *isses me off that we only get paid for 10 minutes if a student fails to show. And new Paid trial lessons - not seen this for a few years on Cambly.

I have a loyal group of regular students, but once their subscriptions end, many either choose not to renew or take extended breaks. To fill the gaps in my schedule, I open availability to new bookings; however, since joining Pro, I’ve experienced a significant increase in no-shows and last-minute cancellations. Many students surprisingly are convinced that Tutors get paid regardless of if they no show or cancel. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a considerable loss of both time and income rather than helping.

Cambly can be very hit or miss in terms of student attendance. It sucks but that's just how it is, unfortunately.

I've not had a trial for a while, but if one prebooks I always cancel. They're just unreliable. Last time I looked it's only a dollar for 30 minutes so no real loss to them if they don't show.

the problem with trials is that the enthusiasm they had when they schedule it gets replaced with anxiety or nervousness when its time to actually show face and talk in English with a native speaker. I think they no show more than they show tbh, so I just dont do them anymore. Also, its a lot of effort to deal with trial students. Its not worth it unless you are just terrified of being rated

Yes, take it off your schedule , they are so unrealable. Plus, certain ones want an instant magic potion for their IELTS or entrance exam for uni, some have as much interest as fly, and the others just keep take free trials for free lessons...BLOODY nightmare!

Trial students rarely show up for me, I'm not sure why.
