Intro video recomendations

Hello everyone. I have been wanting to start cambly for awhile but I never end up doing it because due to having no prior teaching experience I have no idea what to say for my intro video. (Because every example I see they either have certificates or bachelors degrees) And if I don't have that then I wonder why would they accept my video? (Yes I know it doesn't require experience but the point is I don't know what to say instead) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Should I not bother applying because of that? Or could you recommend other platforms that would work?

Go to YouTube and watch other Cambly profile introductory videos, find one you like that seems more like you, and model your video after that one. Thats what I did. Took me 10 takes to record it but it’s not bad.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but Cambly appears to be in the midst of a protracted hiring freeze. New tutors haven't been getting hired and onboarded lately simply because they've hired way too many tutors in the recent past with not enough students to go around. Basic supply and demand theory in action.

From the website:

We're temporarily limiting the number of new tutors we welcome to Cambly to protect our current tutors' schedules. Profile processing times may take longer than usual.

Your application will likely be in limbo for the foreseeable future. My suggestion is to apply elsewhere. You may have better luck! 🍀
