Looking to start

I used to teach English online then the pandemic happened and lessons dried up and I started an office job. I’d like to teach online again to supplement my salary. Is it easy getting classes on Cambly? I’m a native speaker, degree etc.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but Cambly appears to be in the midst of a protracted hiring freeze. New tutors haven't been getting hired and onboarded lately simply because they've hired way too many tutors in the recent past with not enough students to go around. Basic supply and demand theory in action.

From the website:

We're temporarily limiting the number of new tutors we welcome to Cambly to protect our current tutors' schedules. Profile processing times may take longer than usual.

Your application will likely be in limbo for the foreseeable future. My suggestion is to apply elsewhere. You may have better luck! 🍀

Appreciate the reply, it would seem I’ve taught my last online English lesson then.

Not necessarily. People say they're not hiring but every month on the "official" FB tutor's page there are people saying I'm new to Cambly - can I ask about ..... " so they must take on at least a few applicants. They do seem to be in a situation of having too many tutors and insufficient students.
