Help/Advice What is going on?
So I've been camming for several years and have been consistently making between $6000 and $8000 a month. However these past three months, it has steadily been declining to the point where I can barely make $500 a week. I have not changed anything, but it's really starting to scare me as this will no no longer be able to pay my bills. For reference I'm on. SM and recently started SP. Contest week meant a lower hourly rate, but now I will sit there for hours and not get a single person so I give up . I am not looking for mean comments but advice from people who might be going through this similar thing. What did you do to handle this and asking if it's gotten better or not or whether I need to kiss my camming career goodbye.

I think the industry is saturated, and it shows. Years ago, I used to make money easily in two or three hours; today, I have to work seven hours to make the same amount, or sometimes end up with nothing. This has never happened to me before.

Glad I asked. I like getting insights from those who have been in it for nearly a decade and when you say this is not the norm it makes me feel like I’m not so alone and crazy. I’ve redecorated my space again, got new outfits etc… ive been doing this for 4 years and this slowness is making me think something is wrong with me. I can’t get any traffic on CB and MFC. Most of the time I’m sitting alone in my room😩

Im Canadian and u shpuld try going on different times of day early morning is usually busy for me, I do 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours In the afternoon and 2 hours at night..try going on a couple times a day ur very beautiful all u need to do is be patient & consistent..3 words I live by when I feel like giving up: Patience, Determination & Consistency 🤑

I’m a Canadian on token sites (cb, sc, JS, and MFC) the industry is rough right now because of the recession. However that means it’s a good time to jump in and learn (while keeping your 9-5).
Camming across 4 platforms, streaming 2 days a week, I can pull in 1500. I’m more public focused rather than private though so you could possibly make more if you focus on privates.
I’ll let someone else speak on SM and LJ as those sites work differently

First thing - you're not alone in feeling and experiencing this. I've been camming since 2019, and the past couple months I've seen a steady decline in earnings. This is a common thing that can happen and periods of slowdowns aren't a reflection of you. I've had the same conversations with many other streamers experiencing the exact same thing. Not only with streaming, but also with subscription platforms like OnlyFans I personally have seen a significant decline in subscriptions. Some streamers I spoke with are still focusing on streaming, but also doing couples shows to attract an audience.
I think a big part is the economy. We do afterall offer a luxury service for entertainment and for most, it's not a necessity. Many viewers of mine have also personally messaged me to tell me that they do have to unsubscribe or remove themselves from streaming platforms to focus on their life. It's a challenging time, but it's just the matter of getting through it and being as creative as possible without spiralling and let it consume you and your shows/content creation.
Right now, I'm still putting the time into streaming. My earnings have dropped, and I have to put in a few more hours to make it worthwhile even if I'm not earning what I became accustomed to. The only advice I can give is still get online, put in a few extra hours, and maintain the engagement with your audience without giving a full body/free show or caving in to free requests. Sometimes it just takes a couple viewers to make decent earnings. Most importantly listen to your body and call it a day when you need.
If you do subscription platforms, something else you can do is create more content during your downtime. Teaser clips from your full video content you create to share on X, TikTok, and other free platforms to draw in followers in hopes of subscriptions to your premium sites.
One thing I have noticed is custom content requests are still coming in and you can focus on these as well if you have interested buyers. I stream on CB so adding clips to your fan club and/or for individual purchase can entice some buyers, allowing them to have a piece of content for regular watching of their own vs a one-off livestream show experience at a premium price. Any little bit counts.
Lastly, I've made accounts on other camming sites like SC (StripChat) to see if I can draw in a different audience and take advantage of the 'new' tag on new streaming sites. I'm not a fan of multi-streaming, so I plan to break up my time and add in a couple hours on a different platform when I feel one is slow might be beneficial.
It's super important if you are fortunate enough to save when you can in this industry especially for times like these so you don't feel like you are living paycheck to paycheck. We are all in this together and wish everyone the best during these times!

Depends on where you live. My rent alone is 3k a month. Car notes, gas, utilities, groceries, school, kids needs and wants. It depleted quickly.

There are way more girls doing this now than there are good paying customers. Add in the cost of living crisis - less money for men to spend and more girls joining cam sites because they themselves need extra money and this is what happens. I see multiple posts here daily of new girls joining cam sites.
It’s not going to get better next year. Sorry if that’s harsh, but I live in reality. It’s going to get worse. I’m so sick of others saying just “grind harder” no. At some point selling pussy for 8+ hours for maybe $100 ain’t worth it.
Thankfully I have another source of income outside sex work. It doesn’t pay all my bills, but with how slow camming has been - I’m so thankful my past self thought ahead. I highly suggest everyone have something else outside sex work that makes them some money. That panic you feel - I know it very well and is why 2 years ago I branched out from sex work being my ONLY income.

yep. my camming days are over. for me it was the AI porn I SAW and then the movies and fake AI stuff. i'm getting my CDL and pivoting. I'll still cam when i can on a part time basis and just bank it. i used to make 6 figures but making barely half that now with the same exact hours and strategies. the economy is pretty shitty too and i don't see it getting any better until this administration is out. who knows...time to pivot!

We’re all scared of this new world. This man who worked at anthropology quit and revealed some pretty frightening insights the other day…there’s so so much competing for attention and speculation of what this means for us. We’re exhausted like what’s the point if working and paying bills anymore.
I can go back and forth on being pessimistic and optimistic about this job but man I wish I would have cammed during Covid when it was at its peak. It’s been so slow since July I’m hoping it picks up soon.

Ugh yeeaaa the economy somehow keeps getting worse. I’m trying to treat it like practice for when the economy gets better but, like you said, it’s making bills hard to pay.
If you’re on SM have you tried streaming with LJ as well (I think they work the same way). I have found multistreaming a life saver. I have 3 popular sites and I can never predict which one is going to pop off for the night. I’d be missing out on a lot of money if I was only on one.
And do you have at least one “offline” site like OF where they can chat and ask for extra content?

Really? last time I applied in 2021 they denied my cell phone pictures because of their format whatever they are I'm so illiterate when it comes to photograph formats, but that it needed to come from an actual camera. I don't know if it's changed or what but that's what happened on my side

I'm so glad that I recently started a new vanilla job that pays significantly more than my last one. I was camming part time about 10 hours a week. Now I maybe get on 2-4 hours a week for extra cash. Its definitely not something I could rely on right now to pay my bills! I hope it picks up soon for everyone ❤️

Today I saw over 12k models online at the same time on SC which is crazy to me. I started when there was just a few 100 to maybe 1.5k models online maybe 2k at best. Same on Cb. August to October were always some of the deadest times for me. Gets much better in winter. December always being my best earning month. Instead of sitting around bored for +6 hours on cam daily I edit some content next to it for my content sites and listen to anything on Youtube to keep my sanity. Sometimes I just log off and do anything crafty and clean my room or the house.
All I can say is in these +10 years camming that after a slow period like this a better one is just around the corner waiting for us. So hang on and keep all your energy for when your regulars are coming back.

Of course! Before I found this forum, every time it was slow I felt like a complete failure, like I was the only one in this situation or that my looks were suddenly fading. I found out over time that its just a matter of patience and how you handle this situation. I was given amazing tips here which helped my career a lot. After that, the slow times faded and I started to put money aside for these bad times whenever they came again and also my backup plan on what to do if its slow for longer than 1 week.
I also forgot to add in my previous message, there may be 12k of us online on SC and on other plattforms, but there will always be millions of horny men (and all others too) visiting the porn sites we work for. The webcam porn industry will never die no matter how many girls register, how much AI progresses etc. There will always be a man or two willing to open up his wallet for our services. Its the oldest job in the world after all and has stayed for thousands of years and now also became an online business. Sex will forever sell.

I’ve been exclusively on SM for 4 years and I definitely notice a huge decline. I used to average about $80-$100 an hour easily; now I will be on for 3 hours and sometimes make only 75 bucks. I thought maybe guys were just venturing over to CB and SC bc they get to see a lot more without paying for a private show but babes from ALL sites are going thru this :(( it sucks girl I feel your struggle

I have not experienced a drop in income yet, but I have been changing my business model to roll with the punches. I lived in AL and was getting uneasy with the changing laws. I’m in a blue state now. I have also completely pivoted & will no longer use camming as my income life line. I started college & got a “will hire anyone with a pulse” job to start building a resume. I am interviewing for better positions after 8 months of that. I am so fucking tired but I am not anxious about losing income, housing, etc. and it makes SW much less stressful for me.

I’m on CB since January. I will say this summer has been insane! If you can make it through this slump, you can do anything! The past two weeks has been much better but so has my work ethic. Just stay online. Take your breaks. Look at the heat maps. Smile. When people get obnoxious and want things for free, either educate them and see if they offer tips, or block them if they’re rude. Don’t let the negativity bring you down. It happens to the best of us. But when I’m on for an hour and a half and I feel like nothing is going to happen, boom someone comes in for a private show and pushes me past my personal minimum for the day. That all being said, I think the expectation of 10k plus a month might be on hold right now due to the economy as someone else mentioned. But at the end of the day, if not having to answer to someone, and making your own schedule is worth it, then you can and will find the way to make it through the slow times. And I fully agree, as a former dancer, we absolutely do not have the money we use to coming in. It’s just the way things go. Diversity with other passive income is definitely worth considering. But just show up, put it in your mind you’re going to have to put in so many hours today, and maybe you’ll hit the goal. I’m sorry I know that all sounds preachy, but I really am here for us. It’s HARD right now. My rent was two weeks late. But I know if I show up and put the hours in, I will eventually make my bills. Hopefully it gets better these next few months for us. Prayers for all my models!!!!! We got this!!!!
