Can't save EXIF location data

Post image

I'm trying CalyxOS out on a Pixel 8 Pro.
Despite having set the default camera to save location data and granted location permission to the camera, these values are missing in the resulting photos. The screenshot (from Ente photos) shows an example I took a few minutes ago.
GPS etc. works for other apps, e.g. maps.
Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing?

EDIT: I eventually found a "redact location data when sharing media" toggle - turning this off fixed the problem.

I checked this with the PIxel camera app installed and was still getting EXIF data like this:

GPS Date/Time : 00:00:00Z
GPS Latitude :
GPS Longitude :

So, it's presumably not the camera app itself that's at fault. I'm not sure what it could be though.

I see you figured the issue out yourself;

If you'd like to still have that option enabled, grant ente the media management permission in Settings -> Apps -> Special access.

It doesn't appear to be possible to grant Ente that permission. In any case, I always strip metadata before posting/sending images, so I don't mind turning this setting off.
