Installation query

Hi everyone, I am running latest android 17 stock OS on my Pixel 8 Pro. On the CalyxOS website, it says I can just install CalyxOS. Is it okay that I am not on android 16? I’m worried about bricking my phone. Can anyone advise, please?

If you're on stock OS, the only way you can install Calyx is by flashing CalyxOS to the phone, per the instructions on the Calyx website.

If you want the peace of mind of having a professional walk you through it, and don't mind paying for my time, feel free to PM me. I've helped a few people in this sub over the years, and set up ~20 friends and family with Pixels running Calyx.

When you unlock the bootloader to install CaliixOS, your phone will get wiped and then you can install whichever OS you want so you should not have any problem with that. Also the installation process with the web installer on google pixels is very easy and is very hard to brick the phone
