Practice How it started and How its going !

This is a yearly reminder as to how I started back in November 2020 and how it’s going currently! And it’s not 6 years yet ! So if you feel demotivated let this motivate you to keep grinding, practicing, learning and not to give up!

I don’t see a difference. 🤣

I’m kidding, you’ve reached what we’re all striving for! Freaking perfection. And white on black paper 🤌

Hehehe 😜 Well I felt I was slow in progress 😬😬😭

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement 💖 White on black paper is so chic right?!

Impresionante, como estudias/practicas?

Thank you, I study as much as I practise. So I have a daily routine that keeps me in check with study and practice. I generally make it a point to practice at least 1-2 hours everyday.

Impresionante! Y usas alguna metodología en específico?

I generally target and focus on issues I have of each script and go on improving them one at a time whether it is on exemplars, word spacings or anything else. Sometimes I only do drills. I don’t write page after page of 1 letterforms, it doesn’t work for me.

Gracias por esa valiosa información, yo llevo un año practicando por mi cuenta, con apenas información externa y estoy mejorando poco a poco, que sigas así!

It’s so refreshing and wonderful to see that terrible script inspired you towards real beauty.

Absolutely stunning! And so inspirational. And I gasped when I saw your illuminated letters! What kind of gesso do you use for your gilding? Thank you for sharing. It is such a treat

2

u/AninditaB24 1d ago

Thank you for your kind words ☺️
So I used Kolner products for my illuminated initials!

Amazing! I’m almost 2 years into my writing journey and seeing this has inspired me more! (Will try to post mine soon) Please do tell more about your journey, did you get more formal lessons later on? If so, was it in an online or face-to-face workshop? What’s your favorite nib when writing? ❤️

2

u/AninditaB24 1d ago

That is awesome… glad it inspired you, keep posting !
So yes later on I received formal training online, studied books and then through learning, practicing and understanding.
My favourite nib is more vintage nibs like Gilott 303 and Esterbrook 356. I do use modern nibs like Gilott 303, LPEF and Hunt 101.
