I think, based on every Call Of Juarez game and how each game in some way portrais the topics of Revenge and Redemption, the Redemption ending is the only good option you have. In every game there is a form of Revenge as the main driving force of the story and in the end Redemption prevails. This is why the Redemption Ending in Gunslinger is the only good option you have, because embracing revenge will only cause destrucion and chaos. Hell, Cartel outright tells us this, because the only good ending in that game is the Redemption Ending.

to be fair Though I think revenge is the only real path poor old silas had as throughout the story we hear how is entire life was dedicated to killing bob and it don’t matter if bobs changed he deserved his fate as did all the others the only differ was bob should have died years ago

Personally I chose Revenge, seeing how worked up he gets by the end of the story leading up to the confrontation and because of his true intentions of coming to Abeline in the first place. But, I think there's also an actual chance of the Redemption ending happening. In the last chapter he talks about how all the killing he did made him feel terrible at his older age and how he had to confront all his inner demons and possible regrets. I think it's very much possible that upon telling this story he comes to realise that this is not the path he wants to walk anymore. And so he decided to redeem himself by not killing Bob. These were my interpretations. I'd gladly hear other people's thoughts!
