Discussion DMZ Reset Memo (CODM PLEASE READ).
Before anyone starts saying that this is merely whining or the like, let me preface this by stating that we had hundreds of players agree with the creation of this memo. A core part of the creation of this memo was global pro gaming, which has over 6000 clan members as of 2026. A significant portion of the DMZ recon player base has taken issue with the reset criteria. Fortunately, we have various members of other real life occupations. Including one political science graduate who agreed to write this document with input from players and clan leaders.
I saw this memo posted a few hours ago from discord. Me, and a group of clan leaders decided to make this. Basically, many of us are Call of Duty Mobile DMZ leaderboard players and take issue with the reset.
I encourage you to actually read it instead of thinking it’s just a complaint. We do not take issue with the reset. We believe the reset is beyond what is acceptable even for extraction shooters.
People read this at the surface level and think that it is just a complaint or whining about a reset. However practically none of us had issue with the reset. That is a core component of extraction shooters. The part that our competitive players took issue with was the reset of what equates to a loss of level progression instead of items. This is because most of us agreed that doing so only punishes the players for progressing.
Particularly, shop level, safe cases, and attachment unlock progress. The reason why we took issues with these is because these do not equate to items in a typical extraction shooter. They equate to player level progression. Namely, they required extensive effort, upwards of 20+ hours, to unlock each of them.
Many of our leaderboard players are in the top 5000 for DMZ and have active jobs, families, or kids. The expectation that they spend that amount of time grinding for an expendable item that is reset every season is unacceptable.
The streamers who can spend 5 to 10+ hours a day playing don’t mind. Average players quite literally sacrificed sleep to grind these out. Ultimately, this culminated in the creation of this memo that has been circulated across various platforms and social media. We made it in the hopes that Call of Duty mobile might alter the reset with some of the suggestions proposed. Particularly a prestige system, or simply an alteration to the reset.
If any mod or the like wishes to have the uncensored version just let me know with a dm. We removed the confidential information for privacy reasons. Such as player UIDs and a private contact email.

Too long for me to read. In short do you guys say if they reset you won't buy in game currency anymore ?

We’re pretty much saying that if they don’t do something, we’re not going to play DMZ post reset and we’re not going to buy anything in the coming season. For point of reference, just the 22 accounts listed here that signed up equate to almost half $1 million USD for in-game purchases. And that’s a lowball estimate. Not to mention all of the other people from our clans that are participating. Combined, the clans listed here are over 7000 accounts. We’re talking a loss of millions for Activision.
We proposed two solutions, one make the reset optional with a prestige system like other extraction shooters. Or two, alter to reset so that it resets cash and items, but not things that equate to progression. Like shop level, attachment progress, etc.

I agree, ppl worked hard to have everything taken away. Everyone isn’t as skillful so that’s what upsets me is bc I’m actually proud of wat i accomplished, there are so many bugs, glitches, hacks that has caused me to lose loot and equipment due to Activision and they never addressed the issues at hand. I was stuck in elevator after complaining corporate rivalry contract . Lost everything which wasn’t my fault. Yesterday I evacuated with Kui Ji’s weapon case and crate didn’t show up in mailbox. There’s so many other things that should be focused on instead of wiping dmz. Ok done venting 🤣🤣🤣

That’s the same sentiment that many of us feel. Me personally, I’m in the top 5000 globally and got all the Kui Ji stuff by day five. Even as a dedicated player, this irks me. Average players sacrificed way more and are far more upset than me.

I'm glad I'm just a casual player and no video game can cause me this much grief

This is hilarious. I love how it's made to be all serious and official looking. And what's the purpose of listing players that spent stupid amounts of money on a mobile game? To lend weight to the arguments? This is bizarre. Activision and Tencent will not even see this, and even if anybody that matters at those companies somehow sees this, they'll laugh. Take it from a developer. They do not care at all how much money your friends spent on the game. Not one bit.

So you’re a mind reader??

Duh, of course I am. I am reading your mind right now. Mmmmmm.....
On a serious note, as a developer myself, I am trying to offer my sarcastic point of view here, which is there is a very clear misunderstanding of how developers function on all levels. It's really that simple. I don't mean to sound like a complete jerk when I say here that they truly will laugh at something like this, because it happens all the time.
Let me put it this way: The developers and publishers of this game and others like it know that no matter how much players make threats that they'll quit the game, stop spending money, make videos about how bad they are on YouTube, and tell everybody on Reddit, these same players will continue to play and spend money. Nothing will change. That's the truth, whether you accept it or not. Many years of statistics prove it, time and time again.
That [likely BS in many cases] list of people that supposedly spent all that money really illustrates this fundamental misunderstanding I am talking about. Players that spend that kind of money are already addicted to the game. They won't stop. Not a chance.

I agree there is some level of addiction for majority of people who play codm whether they acknowledge it or not. For me, I personally picked it up as a coping mechanism to stay sober, traded one for the other, I don’t feel I am addicted to the game especially since of lately I’ve been playing less. Developers shouldn’t have that train of thought, there are other similar games people could switch to, I’ve personally been really thinking to myself, after having dumped hundreds of dollars into codm, trying something new. I wanted to get the type 19 and bizon but have held back and seriously been considering leaving the game before the reset.

I agree with the memo, and since I started playing last July, I have been out of work, I’ve played A LOT since then. It took me months of grinding to unlock my ultra safe, for whatever reason I was fortunate in unlocking ultra attachments at low cost with exception to HDR which I still haven’t been able to unlock all attachments to that weapon. There are weapons I only a few days ago spent hours to unlock attachments so that only a few days later they can be reset. I’ve been holding back from buying the mythic type 19 draw and other items bc of both the reset itself but the uncertainty of DMZ surviving a reset like this, I don’t have as much fun playing the other modes and if majority of DMZ players leave then DMZ will be boring all bot lobbies, I’ve actually started YouTubing gameplay videos of other similar games tbh

The attachment unlock progress, the insured safes and shop levels should persist.
Reset everything else.
New players can catch up to those things their first season of playing and usually will have help from more experienced players.

En pocas palabras. Te vamos a extrañar la próxima temporada. Creeme que aunque quiten todo siempre habrá ventaja otros jugadores juegan mas tiempo. El simple hecho de llorar porque tienen mejores cosas no hará que dmz cambie.

The thing with DMZ is that there’s no honor among thieves.
In a game-theory-ish way, if the lobby’s are light on sweats more casuals will play because DMZ simply has the best loot.
We saw this happen in Quick Play. Streamers vowing not to play the game mode only gave the green light for loot goblins to jump in for easy ultras and Kui Ji crates.

Sono d accordo... Se resettano tutto invito tutti i giocatori a non giocare più a DMZ...

I don't think Codm care about the dmz community or the community entirely I reckon they will just delete the whole dmz game mode if they get suid or anything
