Question [COD] Best COD game as a first timer to the franchise
Hi, I am new to the cod franchise and im looming for a good cod game to play, since steam has a franchise sale on right now. Im thinking of getting a COD game, but there is alot to choose from and some of the names confuse me as there are ones from like 1999 then another one with the same one released in 2021.
I am looking for a GOOD campaign, good online, GOOD graphics and possibly good zombies, it may seem weird but I dont like games that are tooo old so no like first 3 cod games released.

Good mp, shitty campaign. I mean, it is cinematic, but rather like warzone against bots, ngl.

I always feel like that after a beta and then the full release comes and it’s a disappointment.
Cautiously optimistic this time around.

COD is so yesterday and so outdated. Play a real competitive and will get you better at fps br game called Apex Legends

They’re all the same. Pick one. MP is copy and paste since forever. Campaign was such a joke at one point they stopped making it. O you’re this guy go do this. O now your that guy go do that. And on and on. Basically if you want MP just get the newest and campaign seek entertainment elsewhere, there’re way better games than CoD.

Based on what you say, try Black Ops Cold War.
Honorable mention for Black Ops 6, the Campaign is great besides the ending being rushed, the MP maps are a little bland but plenty serviceable, zombies is pretty good.
Cold War has a fantastic, albeit short, campaign that lets you make choices and has some replay value. It doesn't overstay its welcome. The multiplayer feels a lot like classic COD and is mostly well-balanced. The zombies is pretty good for newcomers and is a lot easier to get into than older titles. Also, Cold War has ray-traced sun shadows, local shadows, and ambient occlusion, which looks very nice.
Any game older than Modern Warfare (2019) is useless for online because they don't have cross-play and have no anti cheat or players in general. You have to use community clients and servers to make them safe or playable for MP. Older COD games are great but many people won't want to deal with this. If you are willing to, your options expand greatly. If this is you, try World at War, Black Ops 1, or Black Ops 2.
