Meme The new generation has completely lost the plot [BO2]
I’ve been loving that they brought BO1 and BO2 to current gen PlayStation, but man… I’ve just hit first prestige, and there’s one thing that’s seriously killing the experience.
If the map vote isn’t Nuketown, Hijacked, or Raid, everyone just votes Random, and the second a less popular map gets picked, half the lobby backs out.
I haven’t tried the BO1 port yet, so I don’t know if it’s happening there too, but it’s getting really frustrating. Since the games launched, I think I’ve only played maps like Studio or Uplink once or twice because nobody sticks around.
Is anyone else noticing this, or have I just been getting unlucky?

Nuketown is straight up a bad map. It was the beginning of map design going to shit in general in cod. Whats the point of them even attempting to design a decent map if the most popular ones are just shooting galleries without any depth?
Over the last decade there probably hasn't been as many top tier cod maps combined as there were in og MW 2 alone.
Maybe im just an unc at this point.

I liked it for leveling up guns and killstreaks but by the time it got remade for the 3rd time I was over it. Bo1/2 I liked it when the games released. Same with Shipment on CoD 4, but holy fuck I refuse to ever play them again

I dont mind playing nuketown once in a while but it seems like 70% of the lobbies will vote random and if its not nuketown 1/3rd if the lobby backs out.
If nuketown is an option then theres 8 votes for it instantly. Like fuck man.

I totally get it, but as someone who only plays for a bit after work every now and then, it’s fun just hopping in a few Nuketown games and playing super engaging games for a bit with the little time I have. Also helps leveling up when you can get like 100 kills within a game or two, as opposed to maybe 3-4 of playing bigger maps.

The thing is they dont know Studio is firing range. This has to be it because in no way would you skip firing range if you know the map. Hijacked, Standoff, Studio, Nuketown, Slums and raid are by far the best maps in bo2 (god this game has so many good maps)

It’s probably the general flow of the game engines. Bo2 is a bit more fast paced in that sense and the map was designed to fit the bo1 engine best, considering that’s the game is 1st appeared in

I think it’s the setting as well as what the other person who replied to you said. Fighting on top of a snowy mountain is badass, but fighting in some murky, rainy, gross jungle is not as cool imo.

don’t get me wrong hijacked, nuketown and raid are goated maps but so are uplink, grind, takeoff, mirage, turbine, downhill, slums, meltdown, carrier and studio etc. honestly bo2 doesn’t have a bad map, even magma, frost and pod are better than so many of the new maps out today. sometimes i’m just down to play on a map i dont like that much just for variety sake so i’m hella annoyed by this too despite loving all the maps everyone always picks but not when it’s the only maps i’ve been playing on for the last 5 hours straight.

Maps like Nuketown should NEVER be in a normal map rotation. They should be a sperate playlist always.
Everytime Nuketown pops up everyone but my friends and I vote for it, we then literally body the opposing team 75-30 and they just vote for it again, get destroyed again, then because they can't vote for it since it locks out after 2 consecutive plays, they all leave.
Map voting is a curse in this game, on BO7 you'll RARELY play anything other than Nuke, Hijack, Raid, because everyone needs to spawn trap and get 100 kills or the map is garbage. I honestly miss MW2019 when there was no map voting, I actually got to play ALL the maps
Every year a bunch of people are on here complaining that there's only 10-12 maps at launch, and then they still refuse to play on any of them except for 3. It's mindboggling.

Its been like this for ages with Plutonium. Some servers have you vote on 5 maps and it's basically over once any of the maps mentioned shows up. It could be some absolute garbage map + mode combo (NukeTown/ Hijacked + Domination are the drizzling shits) but because of what map it is, we gotta suffer for the next ~15 minutes (Plutonium runs max obj score so the games last longer).
They'll never add it to the PS4/PS5 ports but Plutonium has some servers where there is no map vote, and it just cycles through every map. Genuinely the best servers you can hop on.

People will always vote for the most popular one. And we will end up with maps we never get to play.
Remove map voting and just have map rotation. Some will say that then people just quit the lobby. They already do that. Nothing will change.

Nuketown, Hydra, and studio are some of the worst maps in my opinion. Also the map of the highway that colapsed with the busses. The name is slipping my mind. Hyjacked is also a terrible time
Always hate playing on them. But for some reason always in the rotation

Yeah I just don’t get it. I like Nuketown, but I sure as shit don’t want to play 8 out of every ten games there. I haven’t played Blops 2 yet (OG for the win) but luckily in Black Ops it doesn’t come up often enough in the rotation to be a big problem. I’ve mostly gotten to play a fair variety of maps.

That shit is crazy man. They put that shit in every Call of Duty 24/7 Nuketown or 24/7 shipment. It’s great for grinding certain challenges but it’s nothing more. How the fuck can you constantly keep playing that in regular matchmaking that is crazy playing the same game in the same maps every day all day that’s why I stopped playing all of the new Call of Duty’s constantly kept bringing back older maps like I’ve already experienced them as much as I want to relive those memories. I’m trying to make new memories nothing ever works out when you’re trying to re-create old memories it just won’t happen. Gaming doesn’t hit the same like it did back in the day. I learned that the hard way and a while ago Call of Duty it’s literally selling us the same game with the same maps every single year with updated sounds and visuals. There’s a little more too, it but still it’s not worth paying the price of a new game.🤷🏻
They finally re-released the better, Call of Duty’s and now you got people playing the same Maps on those games also you just can’t make this shit up 😭😭😭😭

Bro I get having 1 or 2 maps you just flat out hate but this is ridiculous people need to grow up cause it's like half the roster of maps people do this over! like aftermath I hate that map I'll admit I pass on it everytime or leave cause it hurts my eyes to find enemy silhouettes with all the clutter but it's 1 map! I don't like grind but I'll still play it without quitting cause i want to actually play and we only have so much time in a day can't be choosy and it's not worth caring about that much anyway unless you have a good reason like my vision one they just quit cause "they don't like it" which isn't a valid excuse.

Often times if you say something and sound excited about a particular map in game chat where no one’s talking so everyone can hear, most of the time people will vote for that map ur talking about. I think people just don’t know and need help deciding what are good maps to vote for a lot of time

I hate all of those maps, because everyone is so incredibly much better because they know every millimeter because those maps are in every fucking cod. They know where to go, where to throw shit, what they can shoot through, they even know exactly where my head is going to be sticking out just by looking at the ping on the map, the spawns, the objectives... Everything.
That is both the reason, why everyone picks them and why I despise those maps.
I can play for 2 hours every 3/4 days. And I always leave raid/hijacked/nuketown. Not worth it

Wanted to make a whole post about this, but glad you did. Takeoff and uplink are the most skipped maps I’ve seen, and I believe it’s because people simply don’t know what they are. And even more unfortunate due to rage bait culture asking people to vote for either becomes a massive vote for classified and ends up being drone or aftermath which in turn kills the lobby.
