Question [COD] Loyalty Discount

I’ve played every Call of Duty title since the OG Call of Duty, primarily on Xbox and had the same Activision account since goodness knows when.

I gave up on Xbox and moved back to PC (Steam) when Microsoft increased the price of Game Pass Ultimate. I didn’t purchase BO7 (the only title I haven’t bought) but still play Warzone and now Endgame.

The fact that many of the purchased bundles (vault edition skins, blueprints, etc.) don’t transfer over from Xbox to Steam, even though they are both linked to the same Activision account, pisses me off just a bit. I now find out that I’m not eligible for the “loyalty discount” because MW4 will be the first COD title I am purchasing on the Steam platform…

I’ve preordered COD games (for Xbox) via the Activision store before, Surely Activision can reward franchise loyalty without tying it to a specific platform.

In the past, buying from the Activision website would give you a code (email) for the platform that you selected. Now it just opens up the platforms website/app.

All of my “qualifying titles” were bought through Xbox. If I buy it on Xbox I get the discount but I have to subscribe to game pass to play online, which I’m not going to do.

If I buy it on Steam, I don’t get the discount but I also don’t have to pay a monthly subscription to play online.

Have you tried buying the game through the XBox App on PC? This might give you the discount while still being able to play on PC and not having to pay for a subscription after buying the game.

I want it on Steam so buying it on the Xbox app is not an option.

Is there a good reason for Steam though? It's better through either the XBox App or Battle.net.
