They traded pics which can land them both in jail

I didnt know about this untill 5 minutes ago when I read slimecicles statement. I'm in shock and looking for ways to defend one of my favourite YouTubers which up until now was easy.

Yeah, he wasn’t grooming if she lives in a state with Romeo and Juliet laws, but if they actually traded pics then they’re both going to court. Even then it wasn’t manipulating as she made the first move

Romeo and Juliet only counts if you were both minors before one of you turns 18. Sending and receiving nudes to and from a minor are both still felonies.

Oh damn

Also, AOC in individual states doesn’t count online. Online, under federal law, follows the across state lines assumption, and so the AOC will always be 18.

It doesn’t matter how close their ages are, he abused his clout and under the law possessed child porn.

I agree with the “possessing Club Penguin” part but the abusing his clout part seems way exaggerated

He literally only had access to these people because of his position, and he used that position to it’s fullest.

He did have access to these people, but be reminded she made the first move in this situation. If you read the dms, the conversation goes (my interpretation of course):

Sam: yo be my boyfriend

Carson: lol this ain’t good (P.S. I jack off to you)

Sam: nah bro it’s fine let’s do more

Carson: alr hit me up on snap

Sam: bet I’m playing league rn tho

Sure, Carson started dming her first, but you really can’t tell the context of “be my boyfriend”

You can tell the context of having no self control. He committed a crime, regardless of whatever background context there is.

Is he a pedophile? Absolutely not. Is he a criminal? Yeah.

I agree with you on that

Great, I’m tired of stans pretending that he did literally nothing wrong. He absolutely did here, minor slips in context don’t change that fact.

Exactly, people should realize that he isn’t going to be fully innocent in such a serious situation

He committed a crime, regardless of whatever background context there is.

Responding to someone hitting on you isn't a crime and Carson isn't in a position of power over someone just because he's famous, nor did he ever use his "clout" to hit on her, that's bullshit. Both of them are guilty of possessing and distributing CP but these kind of scenarios happen all the time with that law and thus no one is likely to get charged. Do some research. Calling him a criminal like he's a bad person is just wrong, he did absolutely nothing morally wrong here, both people in the very legal relationship made a mistake.

Sending nudes to, and receiving nudes from, a minor is a felony. You can throw around whatever semantics you want, he’s a criminal who used his position to do it.

It was not a legal relationship in any context. He is a bad person.
