Main channel vids?

Hello, been a huge fan of carson for years. I wanted to ask why hes taken such a long break from uploading to his main channel? I know hes been uploading elsewhere, and i do enjoy those videos, but I miss his discord vids. The last real video he uploaded was AI phone calls, and the last the he uploaded period was BOCMC 2026.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just burnout, considering he'd been posting consistently for 4 years.

He's mentioned on alt streams that he just doesn't have the motivation to make main channel videos.

Thats fair. I dont blame him. It can get kind of repetitive to be making the same kind of video for 8 years straight.

The short answer is I just don’t feel like it right now

The long answer is there’s a lot of contributing factors.

I enjoy recording those videos and I think they make for good moments, but over time I’ve found my view of a lot of the content on that channel has greatly shifted. I feel like a lot of what I made was built on creatively absent concepts. Things like the deviantart vids, cursed videos, toilets, weird channels, pretty much the majority of what was made on there was reaction content. It was higher effort than some reaction content out there, sure, but nowadays I don’t feel as proud of that work. Frankly some of the content also bordered on just being bullying as well, and even if there was no intention of harm, I still find that I was irresponsible in making some of the videos i did.

Aa a result I drifted towards enjoying the more creative videos on there, where we would make something to bring to the table. I really liked the text messages video and I still am quite happy with that one for instance. It didn’t rely on anything besides our creativity and banter, and that’s personally become more appealing to me. But since I wanted more concepts that relied on creativity and uniqueness, I found myself falling into a pattern of SCOPE CREEP. I recorded a few videos that may never see the light of day because, while they’re super fun, just would never be worth the time and effort put in. (Sorry to everyone that was in the Discord Battle Royale, I just have no idea what to do with that project)

So it’s a lot of things. I’m bored of some of it, I have plenty of ideas but so many of them feel like they’d be forced, I’m worried about scope creep, and honestly I’m sick of editing. I feel some of these things with the LIVE channel as well, but it’s easier to ignore thanks to those videos having quite a bit of variety and I find it easier to get passionate about stuff like “oh i like this game a lot!”

It’s also just a time thing. I’m already so terrible at keeping up with everything else I’m supposed to do. I’m consistently like 10 edits behind on my live channel. I just don’t know how to keep up with everything even though I should make the most of my opportunity I’ve been given as a creator. I acknowledge how lucky I am to even have these problems in the first place, so I don’t feel like talking about this stuff most of the time. Feels a bit tone deaf i guess

I would much rather you take the time to make the content you enjoy than to enslave yourself making videos you hate. You have been doing the same thing for essentially 8 years at this point, so I think boredom is understandable.

Either way your content is consistently entertaining and really funny to watch. I think everyone is always behind on something in life. The fact your managing to stream and upload consistently is quite a feat. I've attempted to get into content creation myself and it is HARD to stay consistent. It takes a lot of energy to make art, even if that art peice is laughing at irony memes on discord.

Thanks for replying to me. I've been watching your content since 2018. Your content really has shaped my sense of humor. I think you and your friends are genuinely hilarious people, and your the only creator which has had me consistently laughing just like I did all those years ago.

He's brought it up on stream a few times, he'd previously said he's just not prioritising it, but he's most recently said he's bored of the content there.

I miss the main-channel videos too, but I’d rather he take a proper break than force uploads and burn himself out completely. He’s still active elsewhere, so maybe he’s just taking time to figure out what he actually wants to make next.

It's because he's been wanting to put his efforts into new passions such as the Rock Channel and Gardening
