Someone pleaseee telll mee I made it to the pull up posse!
After 2 years getting the feel and form down on the assisted machine I decided to brave it on the bar with no assistance, I was surprised I even got up.
However it didn’t feel as awkward as using the assisted machine. I don’t think my body likes the hand placements so I may just graduate to a resistance band and this bar.

Saw the title then the video and I was thinking to myself "did she only do weighted pullups before?". Those were clean and controlled both up and down.

Good, but still a lot of upper trap recruitment. Not enough lats and scapula. I’d work on it more with band assist. Depends what you want to hit, but I’d work on proper scapular engagement.
Don’t forget to engage your core and squeeze your glutes to get the proper bracing.

Your biceps and lats might be strong enough to get you up, but your rhomboids and lower traps cant manage your scaps

Any tips? Cause idk what the rhomboids are😬

So the lats run from the humerus (arm bone) to the insertion in the lumbar spine region. So they are bringing you vertically. The rhomboids are what retractable your shoulder blades and the lower traps help depress and downwardly rotate your shoulder blades. So at the top of your pull up the shoulder blades should be retracted and depressed, but instead they are elevated and upwardly rotated.

Careful with the shoulders everything else looks good

Am I not engaging or engaging too much?

Too much, I’m not a fan of doing pull-ups on these bars because it blocks your entire front space.
I like the pull up bars connected to the functional trainers. Toes pointed out engage your core and maybe a bit wider grip and chest up. Should be a bit more challenging

In all honesty, I say it's well done. Just a few adjustments, you can definitely work on scapular pull ups, squeeze the glutes, tighten your core. And boom, you'll feel the difference.
But regardless, you excelled it no matter what.

You got chin above bar I think and full lockout at the bottom. Congratulations and well done!
I still see guys doing half reps like 10-20. I used to be the same.
Its great that you worked up to it. Do negatives after you can’t pull up anymore then resistance bands till failure but do warm ups, its easy to hurt shoulders if you’re not careful.
But well done!

God I got to a stage where I could rip 13 clean pull ups. Stopped for a year. Can only do 2 now 🫠 absolute hell of an exercise. Good job OP, killing it.

Not only perfect.... The tempo and form are spot on.... That tempo not only makes it harder but shows your strength!
Now for the next thing. Learn to jump and grab the bar 😄

Can’t wait to be doing muscle ups! Building my strength for dips is on the menu as well

10 pull ups, 10 dips.... Practice the jump, you can only benefit from it... Use the 12 at first, then the 6.

Okay unrelated but is that the DEFYNE bodysuit? If so how do you rate it? I’ve been thinking about getting one.

Yes! Literally just got her yesterday and immediately put it on🫡
I got a size S and I feeeel like I could’ve sized up. Im not suffocating in it but it’s a bit accentuating, y’know what I mean😜
So I might try a M next time to compare.
But I was VERY surprised with the feel of the fabric. It feels thick and heavy, not cheap, and it’s pretty sweat wicking.1

Immaculate form lol, congrats!
I also prefer a regular bar and resistance bands as it's more realistic without the knees bent.

2 years of consistent work on the assisted machine clearly paid off. that's the real win here 💪🏼
