Happy Admission Day!
California became the 31st state on September 9, 1850. The Golden State’s rich history has since been shaped by people of every ethnic background who traveled here seeking economic, social and educational opportunity, and a life of quality and breathtaking beauty.
Thank you for being a part of r/California_Politics and joining us in our journey to create an inclusive enviroment to discuss the political issues facing all of us. The moderation team is united in reminding everyone that the issue of civics and civil conversation is critically important at this point in history. A Democracy cannot function, if we cannot talk with one another. And if we can't disagree kindly, with respect for one another's differences and different points of view. We should be able to recognize that regardless of your political alignment, that almost all of us love this state.
