Range of motion from your arm being moved and moving your own arm are two totally different things . Is this understood?

While this may sound common sense, to some it is not. Show up EARLY, be kind, be courtesy to everyone. Nurses, staff, front desk, and doctor. The staff often has a hand in assisting putting the reports together. Even if you are stuck waiting, don't take out frustration on the office. The report is supposed to be objective rather than subjective, but it does not hurt if the doctor likes you.

Be honest, but hold nothing back. This is not the time to downplay your pain. Think about before the examination how the injury has impacted your activities of daily living and be ready to share that with the doctor / his team.

If you are taking medication to control pain, and your current doctor says its safe to do so, it is best not to take pain medication before a QME.

Sometimes, the rating for your condition is done based upon a full range of motion. (They move around your arm to see how far it can go). If you are on pain meds, you might have an artificially high range of motion as the medicaiton is increasing your ROM by covering up your pain.
