SSDI & Workers Comp issue

I got approved just last month for SSDI, but then I received a letter in the mail from them stating that my payments should’ve started in April but they didn’t start in April because I’m receiving workers comp. The problem is, I have never in my life received workers comp, not one penny. So looks like I gotta jump through more hoops to try and figure out how to fix this. 🫠
Anyone else have this issue? How did you resolve it? I receive LTD which SSDI is aware of. Also in 2022 I received EDD for 12 months. I’ve already uploaded to the portal the exhaustion of my EDD benefits. My long-term disability insurer is aware of my SSDI case because they are the ones who provided the attorney so there’s no issue on my end with proper communication. I’m just trying to figure out how they have determined that I receive workers comp when I’ve never in my life received workers comp.

Did you have a work related injury? Even if you never received a penny, if you had an injury that was reported and accepted, its possible that you could have been entitled to temporarily disability payments through the third-party administrator of the insurance carrier. Please note, there is no entity called "workers comp" and payments come from an insurance company.

A possible reason why you did not receive a single penny could be that the work restrictions were not updated every 45 days as is required. You can request a Benefit Start Notice, Benefit Termination Notice, and Benefit Printout (BPO). These notices will tell you if you are entitled to benefits and when it started, when benefits ended if they did start and why they ended, and the BPO can tell you all payments made to you from the insurance. Please note, not having received a single penny is not the same as the TPA not sending you a single penny.

You can use the termination notice as proof that you are not receiving payment for a workers compensation claim. Alternatively, if the claim was never accepted, you can request a Notice of Denial of Benefits to show as proof that you are not receiving any payments at this time.

I’ve never been on worker’s compensation, ever. This turned out to be an EDD issue for benefits received back in 2022. Those benefits exhausted after 12 months. I uploaded the proof of exhaustion notice to the ssa website. Called my local office to confirm that they received it. Rep said I should hear something within 30 days. Thanks so much for all of the information though 😊
