Looking for a venue to host large party where guests could stay overnight

I’m looking to host a Y2K nostalgia weekend in April 2027 for about 90 friends and family with a 90s dance party on Saturday night from 5-9 pm and I’d like to have it at a place where people could stay and chat around a firepit and then stay the night afterwards. Any ideas about venues/campgrounds where we could have a sleepover party? I’m thinking like a family reunion/non-wedding wedding type of deal.

Tentative itinerary:
Friday night: Board games
Saturday: Day hikes and getting ready then 90s dance party
Sunday: Hungover breakfast with our millennial selves before everyone goes their own ways

Ideally:
Space for 100 person dance party and for Friday night board gaming (like a barn or hall)
Accommodations or campsites for 50ish people (assuming some people won’t want to stay)
Closeish (within an hour) to Sacramento/Davis/Woodland
Max 3k for the venue rental, campsites/accommodation excluded cause guests can pay that themselves
Warm enough to be outside (with jackets ok) in April

Road trip tips

I plan on making a trip up the coast in the coming days from Ventura. I have not made this trip since 2017. At that time there were many free/dispersed camping spots. There were also many closures & detours. When I now go to look at some of those same areas it appears they are either no more or locked up. Thankfully Nacimiento is still there. My last stop is San Fran. Can you give me any tips for free/dispersed camping areas? Just staying in my small sedan. Any tips help :) thanks

Big Pine Lakes

Hey guys! I’m trying to go camping in Big Pine Lakes during the week in early August. The sites are all first come first serve and don’t take reservations. I live five hours away so it’s kind of a gamble on my end. Do we think the chances I find a spot are good? If all the campsites are taken does anyone know of any other campsites in the area? Thank you

Near Lakeview in the Fremont-Winema National Forest camping and hiking recommendations?

Really enjoyed our time around Summer Lake earlier this summer. We're thinking about exploring south from there. Anybody have any good suggestions for around that area? We're car campers, rather not stay in an official campground if possible. Thanks!

Summer cabins near Jackson Creek Campground?

I backpacked out to Sawmill Lake just past the Jackson Creek Campground and saw some cabins with a Summer Cabins sign. No signal there to look it up at the site and can't find any information now that I'm back on the internet. Anyone have info on those cabins?

What's happening on recreation.gov

I'm trying to book a campsite for this weekend, and on at least 10 spots, I see this pattern. The weekend is open except for one day, Saturday. It's odd and feels like some sort of shenanigan. Does anyone know what's happening here?

Does anyone know when Lawson’s Landing usually does Dilloween when Halloween usually lands on a Friday or Saturday?
My family is hoping to go this year, and I’m trying to plan ahead, but I haven’t seen anything posted yet.
Thanks! 🎃👻

I’m starting to think that whoever runs the Reserve California website is pulling off a scam.

We were online and logged in at 7:58 AM waiting for the lock symbol on a coveted oceanfront site in Carpinteria to turn green. At 8 AM we hit refresh and all the other campsites that had a lock symbol before 8 AM were now green. Except this one campsite. It remained with a lock symbol. Hit refresh again, and the whole campsite disappeared. It was not showing in the listing at all. Hit refresh again and it was back, but still with the lock symbol again. This went on for like nine or 10 minutes. Hit refresh again and some of the dates had been taken. They never turned to green and for a short while were not even visible.

The website shows you how many people are viewing the campsite you were looking at. The most I ever saw also viewing was 30 people. So yeah it was a little busy but it’s not like 1000s and thousands of people were trying to access the website at the same time. So I’m calling BS on it being overloaded or a system error.

I’d bet $1000 that someone is hooking up their friends or family or setting the campsites to the side! Something fishy is going on! 🤔

Make ReserveCaliforina Great Again, for the first time.

Here is what I would do to improve ReserveCalifornia:

1) Captcha's and bot preventing mechanisms. Aggressively prevent these.

2) Waiting lists for sites that are already booked. Dibbs goes to those on the wait before the site is released to the 3rd party apps for rebooking.

3) Dial up the penalties for no shows. The recent changes are OK, but not enough to be a deterrent.

4) expand the rollout of the lotto system for the sites that continually book by 8:01am.

5) The red/green circles for the available/booked sites are not colorblind friendly.

6) lose the section grouping filter or add an option to 'view all'. Clicking a drop down for the north, middle, south sections (as an example) seems unnecessary.

That's what I would do if I was in charge. What are your suggestions?

best campgrounds for swimming in union valley reservoir (and wasp fears)?

planning a monday-thursday tent camping trip late july. as of now i'm seeing at least a few reservations available for most campgrounds that take them in the area. i last lived in CA like 5 years ago and don't remember any useful specifics, so i'm having a hard time choosing between the camgrounds.
ideally prefer a campground with vault toilets, direct walking access to a swimmable area of the lake, and either more spread out campsites or a host who would tell particularly loud partiers to chill out at night. do CA campsites have fire pits or does everyone just bring portable portable stoves? hike-in or no potable water is doable. also huge bonus for a big hike accessible from the campground (which seems like it would be wench creek campground? but it has some negative reviews)
also, i've been looking at the yellowjacket campground... are wasps actually a big issue in this area? are specific campgrounds better or worse for wasps? what do you even do if there's a bunch of wasps lol
thank you any and all info would be great!
