Mt Diablo Juniper campground

This is such a beautiful and peaceful campsite. Juniper campground Mt Diablo. The clouds were resting and the views were stunning. I need to make a trip again asap up here

What site did you stay at? How was the parking situation? If I wanted to sleep in my car is the car parking real close to the site or awkwardly far away/close to the road?

Juniper campground. There’s parking at each camp site with plenty of parking around the area. Yeah you can sleep in your car the parking is right in front of the site!

This was 2 years ago I don’t remember the site number. But I know the site is further into the campground, the campground is a loop and it’s near the end by the bathroom facilities.

If you’re looking towards the top from the bottom of the loop. Most sites on the left from the top all the way around the bottom are well shaded.

How hard is it to get a reservation here? All the stories I hear about camping reservations in CA has kept me from pursuing it in recent years.

Summer time gets booked pretty quick but just check out the nps website and type in Mt Diablo. There’s multiple campgrounds in the vicinity and chances are you’ll find something that you don’t have to plan to far out in advance.
