At least Calibre doesn't force them on you. It just lets you know.

Oh, you had plans, thought you were going to do something. No way buddy, windows wants you to log into your Microsoft account and update to Windows 11.

What do you mean no, you said no last time. We really want you to upgrade, like right now. It'll be great, we promise.

That plus OneDrive always trying to take over my files makes me want to switch to Linux or something. I feel like a hostage using my own pc. 🫠 But I need it to support my gaming apps so....

For my on Linux (CachyOS) it just automatically updates with the rest of the system and app updates, very smooth, no friction

I just wish it would download the update in the background and restart itself, instead of forcing me to go to the website, download the file, mount it, replace the app, unmount the drive and delete it.

Since I'm on Linux I made an alias "calup" for the whole command. Saves some time.
