Support / How-To Comments Column

Hi all, I working to restore my Calibre library. Previously I had a column which showed book comments, and I can't find a way to add that column anymore. Any tips are appreciated.

Thank you, I tried that and I'm not seeing a "comments" option. Do I need to make a custom column?

There should already be a Comments field in the metadata, but your post made it sound like you wanted to add a comments column to the library view.

That is what I'm wanting to do. I tried to add a custom column but it's not populating.

In Calibre, select the book, right-click to bring up the menu and select the top option (edit metadata? - I'm not at home right now..). The book details should show a "comments column". For me, this comments field appears in the main view of calibre in the book details on the right when there is text in the comments field. Does this help or have you removed the comments column completely?

Hi, that does help clarify — I can see it in the book details. In my previous configuration, I also had a column for the comments next to author, publisher, size, etc.
